Nylander literally turns away from the box as the penalty is ending.
A peewee coach would make sure that didn’t happen.
Keefe is all lip service these days. Team can’t make a breakout pass to save their life. He knows how to complain about it after every game, but don’t ask him to find a solution to the problem.
Good coaches adapt to their personnel. Keefe needs his personnel to adapt to him. Even when he had Dubas and they were on the same page about style of play and players they wanted we were still 1-5 in playoff series so what does that tell you?
A problem I’ve noticed with the top PP unit an issue with them, and I think Matthews is one of the big culprits, is that they stay out way too long on the PP sometimes and make mental mistakes due to fatigue.
The effort is just not there at all. These guys have figured out there are no real consequences to lack of effort, mental mistakes etc. can’t trade half the team due to their contracts so we need a new voice in the room.

Maybe he shouldn’t have kept the PP unit on for that whole time. Constantly makes poor choices. Then again maybe it’s the players not coming off. Either way it’s an issue
Treliving is too milquetoast as a GM, he’s prolonging his own career length with the Leafs by giving Sheldon at least a full season so that he can scapegoat him in case the team falls short. I don’t like that very much, and wish we had someone that was hungrier to win, like Kelly McCrimmon in Vegas who’s more cutthroat. We’re already the enemy of the league, may as well benefit from it.

Keefe indicts himself with his own criticism. Robertson again played under 9 minutes. Meanwhile the four all stars who had a busy and energy draining week all played over 20 minutes. Horrible coaching. Horrible team management.
Keefe is the issue with this team, there are other coaches available. Time for a change.
