Correct me if Iâm wrong but the flames have their salary retention slots available. If so, they can easily retain 50 and we get Tanev under cap.
If that is the price pay it. Only prospects that should be off the table are the top 5

No thanks. Canucks can get him for free in the offseason. And I don't think Hughes ever mentioned Tanev by name. Unless there's a report I've missed.

The only reason he left was that Jim Benning completely screwed up the cap situation, and basically lost 2 or 3 key players to free agency. Vancouver doesn't plummet after the bubble if JB knew what he was doing. Mike Gillis made a lot of stupid moves after 2011, but except for drafting a few elite players in the 1st round, he was awful.
Well the canucks are all in for the CUP … if tanev doesn't want a peice of that…
Trade Myers for Tanev
After the price they paid for Lindholm, he should have been free.
Unless the Canucks manage to put Soucy on LTIR to manufacture cap space, I don't see this deal happening.
