Can they send a buddy with him so he can at least drive in the HOV lane to Abby?

So he flew to Raleigh, practiced with the team for two days and then flew back?

Snip snap snip snap, do you have any idea the toll this takes on a man?

Karlsson is pretty much the Juulsen of last season. He would transit between Abby and Vancouver and fly out wherever the team is at as a warm body. 😭

I think they’re trying to keep him paid, happy and part of thier plans as he’s an RFA this year and could opt to go back to Sweden. He won’t make NHL money there but he could make more than he does in the AHL.

And this is exactly why we won’t see Bains or Podz on a callup. Our lineup is currently stacked up, and anybody we call up is going to be a « just in case » press box rider, who even if he does see game action will ride pine for most of the latter part of the game and won’t likely get much of a chance to do really anything. Better to let them play top minutes in Abby, keep building their game, and then when our host of UFAs go get raises we can’t afford they can come in and compete for full time roster spots next year.

It’s funny, but this is what actual depth looks like, and it allows us to let promising prospects properly develop while we use the players whose ceiling won’t go much higher than a tweener as exactly that. Especially helpful that Karlsson is still waiver exempt so shifting him up and down is pretty easy to do.
