Me too, DP. But who knows if we make the 2017 run without PK.
If we’re being real he never should have been offer sheeted. Poile can say whatever he wants, but he let it get to an offer sheet scenario and put the whole thing in motion. If Shea has a more reasonable contract, we dont trade him for PK. I still think PK is the right move, but given the impact to cap he didnt have a choice.
It sucked losing Shea and I know Montreal felt the same about losing PK. It can’t be denied that PK was an asset for us when we needed him to be, however. It all worked out in the end.
I too wish Weber was a Pred for life, but there’s no denying PK’s contributions on the ice and to the organization as a whole. Seems like nearly every time I see him on a broadcast he’s pumping the tires of one of his former Pred teammates, the city of Nashville, or the Preds organization in some way.
It would have been nice to have our cake, but we ate it and it was worth it.
