  1. I just find this hard to believe. You gotta survey the land, do all your work on it and that could take months if not years (especially if groups contest it). I don’t think the board of governors would be happy to think that yotes would be playing at mullett arena for another 3-5 years

  2. It would make a great place to build for the expansion bid to lure the NHL back.

  3. Still going to take 3-5yrs to build your stadium. So stay at a college till then??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 SALT LAKE CITY BABEEEEE …… Well be waiting

  4. You actually think idiot Meruelo will do this? Lol, if anything the league will help him pull it through.

  5. Who's the "government source" Craig? Is it Bettman? Or are you too much of a coward to say because you know it's lie and they don't actually exist?

  6. Have they checked with groups like The Goldwater Institute just to be absolutely sure that this cannot come to any kind of public vote

  7. I lost my team in 2013 in Houston and I don't wish it on anyone to lose their team…. I'd love to see the yotes in Houston, but I do Hope they find a way to stay…. and change the name back to the PHOENIX Coyotes if they are in Phoenix.

  8. Anyone can pull an “anonymous source” out of their butt to support any point. I’ll believe it when there’s actual proof.

  9. The last DEAL the Coyotes wanted the city to GIVE $500 million in Tax Right offs, if this deal is bigger as you all say i guess the owner who has Billions will want more? ah NO ,thats the fly in the ointment ,so they are GONE BABY , DEAL WITH IT.

  10. So 3 or 4 years at Mullen. 123 games at 4600 fans compared to 14,000 at Glendale but there was no room to negotiate a deal to stay in Glendale. Total gong show.

  11. Arizona doesn't deserve a hockey team, you go out on the street and people don't even know that a team exists. What a shame that in that city they have a franchise, when there is very little hockey culture, and on the other hand, in Quebec where they breathe hockey, they don't have it.

  12. It all sounds good and unlike Tempe, the area is pretty Vacant and what is near is not housing but more vacant, and some other construction. Hard to get neighbors upset when you don’t have neighbors.. also helps that you’re not taking peoples homes and such. Still, progress with government involved can be glacial…

  13. So the same owner who couldn’t afford to make rent payments at the Glendale rink is now going to build a new arena w/ his own money??? Lol

  14. my honest opinion on the matter as long time yotes fan: the sole reason why NHL hockey isn’t working in Phoenix is because of horrible ownership and the inability to ice a competitive team. Having a lackluster season every year and the constant threat of relocation and all the drama that has occured over the last 15 years isn’t going to make anyone want to support the team period. If you took this franchise and put it in southern california, vegas, or any other successful southern market, it’d flop too. honestly at this point i see the only way to actually make the nhl successful here is to either sell the team to a local owner like the suns ishiba, and deal with playing at footprint center, or relocate and try a new expansion in a handful of years like minneapolis did with the north stars/wild. I just don’t see this specific franchise and ownership group turning their current situation into a success.

  15. Arizona has been an absolute dumpster fire for well over a decade. It's time to move this team. Arizona doesn't generate revenue, and this is part of the reason the league salary cap has flat-lined. Move this team. You've had so many chances and so much time to figure this out.

  16. Seems like someone has become an extension of the Arizona Coyotes (doing their PR). I know you have a vested interest but I would have expected more than lies. Everyone knows how governments work, and no way in hell does anything get done faster than expected, especially since the government has explicitly said the Coyotes would get no special treatment in expediting the process. The NHL is hanging over the Muerelo group and they are grasping at straws to create more time. PHNX is a puppet of the team!!

  17. It's all very well buying some land (they haven't yet) but there's lot of work that has to happen before the NHL is happy this will most likely take years are the others owner prepared to wait years for this to be sorted I'm not sure about that.

  18. Even if somehow this did get done, they'll never fill the building. Give Utah a chance. I think the Board of Governors are done with this. Was probably over after Tempe failed.

  19. For people saying there aren’t enough fans, well what did the fans have to cheer for? It’s almost 30 years in Arizona, and they haven’t made the playoffs more than 10 times. Add to that a terrible arena, then a decent arena, but it ain’t terrible location. Then the last few years constant talk about relocation. Why would you spend any money on this team?

  20. How about the NHL imposing a season ticket drive to ensure there are enough fans in the area to support the team and prove that a new building is actually warranted?!
