  1. Hi Andrew How are you Doing? Toronto needs alot of Changes, a few moves before Trade Deadline. Defense , Goaltending, Forwards.

  2. I'd hate to be the guy who trades Nick Robertson. He is one good playmaker away from 35-40 goals a season.

I would hold serve. I don't think this is the year and I don't see a trade that makes them a Stanley Cup winner.

  3. So what is the point in even raising the cap if all it does is increase the worth of players who aren't worth the increase? If someone is worth 2 mill they should be worth 2 mill regardless of the cap being 50mill or 100mill.

  4. I’d say even Niemala is untouchable considering Lilijgren will likely get dealt over the next week to 6 months, Sandin was essentially traded for the Cowan pick so that worked out in a sense but Niemala is our only defence prospect and right shot, will likely end up being much more useful than say Lilijgren…in terms of overall skill, production etc…

Now the kicker to me, is if it’s both Tanev and Hanifin, in this case you can kiss one of the top
Prospects goodbye, plus Robertson and some
    Other mid prospects Lol
I’m kind of hoping Calgary doesn’t propose
something.. just grab another defender somewhere else that is an upgrade defensively compared to…..everyone else we have pretty much.

  5. you can trade one of them for another young defenseman. Good defensemen especially RHD are more valuable than forwards.

  6. I wanna see Cowan and Minten in Leaf uniforms next year, I really believe these guys can be amazing NHL players. Let’s face it, nobody really has high hopes the Leafs can make a deep playoff run this year. Let’s use the money coming off the books and cheap depth like Minten and Cowan and do something respectable with our defence in the offseason.

  7. I agree Cowan is a future 1st or 2nd line player, same with Knies and Minten is our future 2nd line center. Where else are we going to get cheap talent?

  8. Agree with someone’s comment Leafs need to trade Marner. Yes he has a NTC but if if they tell him he’s not getting a raise he’ll wave.

  9. With the style that Cowan plays and the lack of grit in the lineup, that puts this kid on an island. He will be demoralized real quick and that isn't what you want. Leafs need at least 2 forwards with one on his line to take care of this kid. Kampf, Jarnkrok, Robertson, Holmberg, core 5 and Liljegren won't protect Cowan or Minten. They have McCabe and Benoit that will drop the mitts and neither one of these guys is close to being a tough guy whatsoever.

  10. If this year is a bust, I don’t know how you look at this roster makeup and not contemplate trading a core 4 player. Looking at this season so far, I don’t know how Treliving wouldn’t look at moving Marner. Yea, yea, he has a NMC but that doesn’t mean the player is un-tradeable, it just means it’ll get ugly.

Reason why I say Marner is because you’re not moving JT’s contract without retaining which makes no sense given a continuing cap issue regardless of cap increase by 3 or 4 mill, and Matthews and Nylander have been far better this season than Marner on average for what will be similar cap hits. Just don’t understand how if nothing significant happens in playoffs, and I mean a Conn Smythe-esque worthy performance from Marner, that you can justify keeping him in the off season when he will 100% be expecting a raise regardless of what he contributes or else he’ll walk next offseason.

Your projected roster is plugging in a couple of rookies at league minimum (banking on them being ready, which is not likely for an undersized 18 year old with Cowan), having Timmins as one of your only 3 remaining defensemen signed into next season when he can’t even take over a roster spot from a 40 year old Gio at the moment and we would have to split 21 mill amongst 6 players, including a legitimate NHL caliber goalie, top 6 winger AND top pairing defensemen???

There’s no way that Treliving is making that money work without sacrificing heavily on one of those key positions and we need to ask ourselves really if Marner is really worth continuing putting this team through cap hell for several more years

  11. Any trade the leafs make needs to be for players with term or in the case of ufas players who are willing to sign at least a one year extension with the leafs

  12. this is the problem with the team. you should be able to trade anyone for the right return. leafs just aren't that good at scouting or figuring out what they need.

  13. Unless the leafs go crazy at the trade deadline for the Stanley cup there better off being sellers and say goodbye to players like domi bertuzzi Brodie lilejgren Gio for draft picks and prospects and start the retool for the summer

  14. I'd happily wave goodbye to Cowen and Minten if it meant bringing in some capable D now.

The idea that Cowan and Minten are untouchable is dumb. Should have probably moved Knies while his value was sky high. Leafs destroy A- / B prospects. Might as well trade the future for the next 2 years

  15. Again where is all this money coming from , Leafs have 35k in Cap Space , i truly dont know where your get your info about the Leafs cap , CapFriendly breaks it all down for even delusional fans , nobody wants anyone other then the top 6 players , which all have NO FN TRADE CLAUSES 🤣🤣 , the media has played you fans like a fiddle lol

  16. Nobody is untouchable. But for the Leafs roster to work they need a half dozen guys in their ELCs
