We wouldn’t be Canucks fans if we didn’t over react

  2. great_save_luongo

I also love how the solution to any problem is apparently to put the Lotto Line together even though that make our forward lines thin overall.

    am i banned from commenting?

edit: guess I’m not, couldnt post in the GDT Thursday for some reason

We need to figure out how to stop letting the other team score in the first minute of the game.

Better we face stuff like this now, than in April, or the 1st round.

  6. cbcguy84

Otls and stupid start times are stupid. At least we got a point.

  7. keefstrong

Is there any way we can offload miks contract?

This road trip was kind of expected. After a huge break , east coast early games. Even the 2011 team would drop these consistently.

The Canucks team that rolled through New York, with normal game times was the real team.

This is a team just coming off a vacation, with a new top end player they are trying to fit in, while playing games they historically lose.

They have earned a few of these at this point

Let’s take a look at some other teams…
Beginning of January Bruins lost 4 of 5 games, including a game against pitts and Arizona.
Winnipeg jets have dropped 5 in a row including a game against Pitts and Philadelphia.
VGK lost like all of December including losing to the ducks.

Stop acting like the sky is falling after one loss

Not a penalty, not a penalty shot. Jabroni refereeing

Feels like the crosscheck shouldn’t have been called just out of principle since they didn’t call the stick being held for Petey. Disappointing loss, but Happy with a point, it’s an early game on the road with a b2b looming. As long as we get at least 3/4 remaining points on these last 2 games I’d say this road trip was a success.

Definitely some issues that need to be ironed out though but thankfully we are sitting in a position where we can afford these losses and learn from them sooner rather than later in the post season. Sky’s not falling yet let’s all see how these next two games play out!

At least Boomi scored in his ot game

  13. cantspellblamegoogle

how the fuck is that call a penalty shot? he tapped his back with a stick.

    unreal reffing this game

  14. kruizer28

Spent an entire period of the game on the PK and got a point, can’t be too upset at that. Hoglander penalty was brutal and turned the game around.

3 on 3 OT losses are random so I don’t care. Powerplay has probably cost us two games in a row tho.

Also, Detroit is probably the softest team we’ve seen this year (or maybe just Lucas Raymond good lord)

We need Washington to win tonight badly

  16. DoktaRee

Atleast Petey looked good and Hogs looks good in the top 6 there. Hoping Lindy finds some chemistry with miller and boeser.

Not the bounce back performance we’re used to seeing after a loss. Still room to salvage the trip, but it’s tough watching that extra point walk out the door after they couldn’t lock it down in the 3rd.

  18. excitedprotons

Alright that’s now a 2 game losing streak, can’t be making it 3 when we haven’t all season. Gotta win tomorrow, no negotiations.

  19. I_Am_A_Peasant

I think we need to see some more line combos. Not to get anyone in particular going but to see what we can run if we get into trouble in the playoffs. Get JT and Lindholm on a line together and boeser and Petey maybe?

  20. wintercom

I get why some people are so mad with every loss. You all need to silence the memories of the past decade, they can’t hurt us this year.

Missed the game, anyone got a quick recap? Can’t find any highlights posted yet..

  22. JTMilleriswortha1st

Oh well we were going to lose 2 in a row again. Season isn’t a sprint it’s a marathon. We have all went through worse as Canucks fans idk how people are losing their shit over 2 games

  23. MaxieMan98

Hoglander is skilled, and a good forechecker. But christ he is so stupid sometimes

  24. CaptainIndoCanadian

Everyone chill we looked fine tn. Detroit isn’t a pushover either. 7 minutes of PK in the 2nd and we looked great. Soft pen on Hoggy and a breakdown on the trying goal. Myers got rekt on the first goal.

Things to clean up but the boys looked fine and engaged.

  25. hannah_nj

y’all neeeed to calm down lol — i know the panic from the last decade sets in quickly, but we are a good team. good teams lose sometimes. they’re going to continue moving around the lines to find what works best, and probably to make sure we aren’t entirely dependent on players *only* able to play in one specific line. it’s not like we’re chasing a wildcard spot right now.

besides, there’s plenty of good things to come out of that game. killing off 7 consecutive pk minutes is fantastic, regardless of how successful the opposing team’s pp usually is. we didn’t immediately roll over and give up when detroit scored that early goal, which is already an improvement from thursday’s game. 3 on 3 overtime doesn’t even matter in the playoffs. looks like some players are starting to come back out of the “slumps” they’ve been in for a few games, desmith made a lot of great saves, and at the end of the day we got a point.

  26. ooMEAToo

If we make the playoffs it’s a win, just remember that.

  27. electricnux

Allowing a goal the first minute of the game is the real buzz killer immediately and now has happened 2 games in a row. Hopefully they come out better tomorrow, can’t allow it to become a habit

at least no SHG against today, it happened for 3 games in a row and 4 times since the Leafs game

  28. radardation

How many games for zadorov? If I was the guy that got hit like that I could see up to 5

  29. ChangeControll

Win or lose, I hate watching good teams play bad hockey. And that “power” play stopped being effective in 2012.
