No it’s a penalty. The rule was changed a while back. It used to be if you touch the puck before the man it was a good play. That’s no longer the case.

Pretty clean cut penalty with the stick following through direct to the skate. A good penalty but a penalty. Defense would have been being in a position to stop the play and not desperation chasing it

What’s more frustrating to me was the two missed high sticking calls in the same shift in the first. I think at some point Butch noted the isles don’t draw many penalties – well what the hell do they have to do to draw one if those weren’t penalties?
