No heart. No compete. No grit. The players will all talk about having these things but the play on the ice tells a different story.
I have a hard time with the constantly heard term ‘levels of compete’. It’s competitiveness, and THAT is what the Sabres lack. Maybe I’m nitpicking. Maybe I’m upset that they suck when all I want is for them to be good. Maybe it’s 13 years of failure under Pegula. Maybe Granato doesn’t know proper English and doesn’t know the word competitiveness. Any which way, after 35 years of fandom, my interest has dwindled to the point of no longer caring to watch the team I used to love so much
You know they sit there and get upset because they don’t want to get booed at home… Then gee, idk… maybe just play with a little passion and move your feet like you give a fuck? People in Buffalo can be patient around here as long as you show you give a fuck. But everything in their play lately has shown otherwise and it’s infuriating to see the same damn things over and over and over. I’ve never wanted to boo this team in my life more than I have lately with the effort they’ve shown, even during the last bullshit 18 years. Because these guys are SUPPOSED TO BE AND CAN BE GOOD…The fact that these guys are so unwilling to drive the net night in and night out shows me how much they just want the easiest route to play..
My biggest issue is how good they were on offense last season! That couldn’t have been that much of a fluke, but watching them this season is like Jack Eichel rookie season all over again
Adams treats this team like my younger brother treats his Hockey sims, and EA Sports NHL games… Stockpile rookies at low cost until enough of them become stars. Too bad it doesn’t work like that in real life.
The guy next to me that was booing his heart out and cursing up one side of Pegula and down the other on Donny as a coach was impressive. Never heard a man boo so long or yell so passionately at a team he loves but just is tired of the ineptitude
