Nightmare game : injuries, terrible goaltending, atrocious special units and Caufield’s point streak has ended. At least the Superbowl is today

  2. slafyousillier

Good game Garrett Rank and Kyle Rehman

    *BAD*

    – Not a good effort. Seems like the guys want to get their super bowl party started, fair enough same tbh. However, here is a spicy take I assure & promise you it isn’t that deep, but save the whole sweaters of the team you think is going to win for after the game. This is professional hockey and you have a game today.

    – Josh Anderson isn’t good with the puck that much we all know but what happened to the hitting and stuff? That shoulder acting up? Idk, just completely weak out there.

    – Struble not a good game and maybe struggling a bit over the last few. Getting beat out wide quite a bit.

    – Matheson had that one doozy shift lost the puck a few times than took the penalty. Twasss the best of times twasss the worst of times. The Michael Matheson experience.

    – The players after the ones on PP1 are well hockey players.

    – Tough to watch the Harris injury.

    – Jake Allen, last but not least, that was an absolutely horrible game no other way to say it.

    – I suspect in the slide to the lottery these games will be harder to watch. Time to start multi tasking getting some work done while watching.

    *GOOD*

    – The top line all three of them are excellent and actually look like some real talent out there. Slafkovsky, Suzuki, Caufield looked good. Specifically what stood out to me was Slafkovsky physicality won virtually every single puck battle.

    – Still liked the way Newhook has looked since back from injury.

Welp other than slaf point, this game was an umitigated disaster

I fear we just repeated the same thing with anderson with allen… held on too long and now his value is shot. This goalie sucks

  5. BrandonPHX

That was rough. Maybe the worst game all season.

  6. jadenspan

Harris concussed, RHP dont know the extent but IR. Guhle looks like he was favoring one arm. At this point I’ll be happy if one of these three avoid missing major time

  7. bless24

I hope Guhle isn’t injured. He’s been injured way too much through the course of his young career.

  8. OtisPan

Do we ever play well in superbowl sunday games? My memory isn’t the greatest but it feels like we very rarely win.

Also curious if there’s a stat for « missed easy goals », we miss *so many* tap-ins I feel like we’d lead the league in that one hahaha

  9. sean_psc

One game closer to a high draft pick, and also being rid of a bunch of these deadweight players.

Hope Harris and Guhle are okay.

R.I.P. to Cole’s point streak, but at least that guy can stop eating so much Poulet Rouge.

  10. douce_abeille

I’m just glad the most longest game ever finally ended.

It is bond to happen with that lineup. Not every game can be competitive like yesterday. I don’t think they played that bad tbh it just felt like every shot was a goal. They couldn’t get momentum bc they scored every time the habs were playing good or they were getting called for something.

At least we have our first line.. but I hope the Newhook like can score because 142022 need to rest too

  11. Keepmeister

~~Soirée~~ Après-midi difficile pour Jacques Alain.

  12. I’m surprised nobody is talking about it but the Scandella play on Guhle was so dirty. Never played the puck, went directly with his stick in Guhle’s ribs and went really hard on the check while the game was basically finished.

  13. realm_fury

When someone like Kova gets pissed enough to start throwing, you know it’s been a bad game. Good for him. Don’t blame him one bit.

Embrace the tank. We need a hot draft pick.

  14. Beepimaj3ep

Obviously allen and the pk were awful but That top line looked so gassed throughtout the 3rd. I thought they should have used the 4th alittle more being it was a back to back. They need to figure out a better situation for a 2c. I know winning isn’t likely from here on out but Suzuki will need support or else he’s gonna get totally worn down and hurt.

  15. sex_panther_by_odeon

Send Allen to the AHL to be 3rd goalie. No one will want him, and even Kaskisuo is better at the moment.

  16. aspen7931

Truly don’t understand how Allen didn’t get pulled after that first period. Absolutely terrible performance. Every time he’s in net now I brace myself for a loss

  17. IcyChard4

Ok. Bad game but still they battled (kinda…)

    – Regarding the PP1, I’m fine with Newhook there. But I don’t mind who’s at that slot. As long as that special teams improve in this rebuild

    – 2 injuries with both Harris and Guhle. Man that sucks! Who’s going to play an extra d? Mailloux or Barron?

    – The tank team is rolling

That’s it. Enjoy the Superbowl everybody.

  18. Olibro64

Pretend your a GM for one of the other 31 franchises.

Would you want to trade for Allen?

  19. MatureNeuro

Not gonna lie, this was not a good game.

  20. Habsfan_2000

Ouchy game but it’s a rebuild.

I was listening to a Montreal gazette podcast on adding coaching talent:

The Habs could use someone with headcoach experience and who is a defensive expert as a consultant or assitant coach to work on our D. Don’t know if he’s available but Barry Trotz is the first guy that comes to mind.

  21. DallasJ2931

Allen is straight up bad, we fucked ourselves holding onto him this long. I’d take a gatorade for him at this point

  22. flepine44

Well I’m glad I have so football to watch tonight

  23. Leading-Sugar-5015

It’s hard to win without a 2nd or 3rd line

  24. Bentley2004

I’m getting the same feeling when the team shut down on the coaching staff in previous years, can’t explain it. Just a gut feeling I’m getting.

  25. Seems like not a single habs fan cares about the team at all.

It’s exhausting seeing every comment and thread related to our players trade value.

  26. markmcmlx

    *HOLY MOTHER FORKING SHIRTBALLS*

    YOU KNOW WHAT!?

I THINK THIS IS THE BAD PLACE!

  27. Top_Contract_4910

As much as everyone wants to shit on Allen for his performance (which is valid to some degree) you can’t blame it all on him, especially not the PK. the habs PK has been so incredibly passive and lacking of any effort whatsoever.

  28. Longshanks123

Well we have to be prepared for a lot more games like this one. Look at the roster. 6th overall pick is within sight and if Ottawa can go on a run, 5th is possible with their three games in hand

  29. coincidencecontrol

any one have a link to the kovacevic fight?

  30. IntentionDeep651

I am simple man , slaf gets goal and asist in early games Iam happy . I miss Kirby but imagine if slaf got stuck with anderson and never gotten a chance in 1 st line . Now when Kirby returns its going to be interesting scenario where slaf and kirby will have to compete who WILL NOT HAVE TO PLAY WITH ANDY

  31. Mbeaud001

Allen is washed! And Xhekaj was needed today!
