@Maple Leafs de Toronto

  1. While what Reilly did was overboard, I'm willing to bet that if the roles were reversed, people would be applauding the Sens, and calling the Leafs classless. Or, if Reilly did nothing, people would be saying that the Leafs are soft.

  2. Throw the fucking book at him.

Classless act? He's just sealed the game in front of his fans. It requires no reaction at all, you lost the game, take your medicine

I can't believe the game still has this. Its not the 70' or even the 80s anynore

  3. im a sens fan i understand that there should be a reaction but i just was laughing at greig it had me giggling quite a bit

  4. A reaction of any kind is childish bush league nonsense. Dont matter if the puck is pushed or clapped in the empty net, its an empty net. Who fucking cares.

  5. He better get more than Dale if they want players to take todays rules and protocols seriously. LETS GO RANGERS!!!

  6. 20-40 games. League needs to set a precedent. This, Pietrangelo going lumberjack last year; 1/4-1/2 season suspension.

  7. The immaturity of a millionaire man nearing 30 acting like a 5 year old throwing a tantrum just makes me lose respect for him. I’m not saying the leafs weren’t allowed to give a response but there’s a difference in roughing up/pushing someone & nearly damaging someone for their entire life. With his mentality Morgan’s lucky he’s in a professional hockey league, if he overreacted & went at someone like that over something so small in so many other scenarios or places in the world Morgan wouldn’t of exactly been able to leave the scene as soon as he left the ice that night. After this I think Morgan Reilly might become my most hated player

  8. UNTIL the NHL gets serious about these types of cheap shots , this will continue . Treat him like ya did Hunter and throw the damn book at him and give him 20+games ! JUST cuz he's a a LEAF !!!!!

  9. Greig is smart considering this was the final meeting of these 2 teams unless some miracle happens and they meet in the playoffs but watch out next season there's bound to be retaliation I feel if Greig is still playing for Ottawa.

  10. It is wild to see the drama around this. I mean is it a cocky play that rubs salt in the wound, yes. Is it something in hockey with some expectation of retaliation, yeah, sure. Scrum it out or drop the mitts. Cross check to the head wasn't it. Wild to hear Leafs fans try to justify that has both acts have some mutual level of condemnation.

  11. As a sens fan, i expected a fight or a hit at least, but when i saw that it genuinely surprised me, that is one of the most childish temper tantrum ass reaction ive every seen out of a hockey player

  12. My only issue with what Riley did was where the cross check hit, cross checking the head 3 games minimum. GTFO of here Riley.

This is just a case of a classless play and a classless response. I would have been worried about Toronto had they let that BS slide.

But next time Riley not the head. Head hunting is bad, go to your room.

  13. It was fine to confront him and rough him up, but not a cross check to the head. So many Leafs fans are exposing how delusional they are by saying it shouldn't be a suspension. If you can justify Perron's 6 game suspension then Reilly deserves 6+ games. Anything less shows that the NHL bends the rules for certain teams.

  14. i dont get your take about the slapshot being a big deal, no offense, but if you dont like it, simply win the game. There was no risk of injury on that play and to be honest i like it, fk ur unwritten rules & may the leafs fans tears be bountiful (ps im not a sens fan even remotely)

  15. he should be suspende4d for the rest of the season and fined a million dollars , that may send a message to those idiots that think they can use their stick as a deadly weapon when it was not in self defense it was a vicious attack and this needs to stop , suspend him for the rest of the season without pay or a serious fine and the money from the fine goes to the victim not the nhl . if a player wants to slap the puck at the empty net so what who cares thats no excuse to assault someone nor is it an excuse to act like a complete psycho or hurt anyone , if you dont like it too bad

  16. sorry its gutless on Morgans part.
Drop the gloves and fight him if youre that offended.
Other than that dont lose to a basement dweller lol
its laughable leaf fans think this makes their team not soft, but its the actual definition of soft.

  17. Empty netter slap shot isn't a big deal. There is no rule against it. Riley should get a serious suspension.

  18. 2:04 is that dude really insinuating that what Dillon recently got suspended for, which btw wasn't an elbow to the head (it was a shoulder hit which yes, was to the head, but not intentionally so), is worse than what Rielly did? Give me a freaking break. If Rielly gets fewer games than Dillon did then they really need to replace Parros as DoPS head.

  19. Not sure what fans truly want anymore. If the Leafs didn’t react, the league would be calling them soft and letting Greig humiliate them (further than the loss) but when they do react, it’s “salty” and they shouldn’t have done anything.

Every team in the NHL would have reacted that way. I would’ve liked to see Reilly hit him hard from the front unexpectedly instead of using his stick, but I think it was a warranted reaction. First time offender, 6/7 games maximum.

Grieg did not sustain any injuries on the play. I understand that the league can’t wait for an injury to happen to do something but that has to be considered along with Greig’s actions to provoke Reilly flossing Greig’s teeth with his stick.

  20. There needs to be serious strict rules on using your stick to injure or assault another player especially to the head , there should be an automatic 10 game suspension regardless if there was no serious injury , and if there was blood , ad another 5 games and if that player misses any games due to being assaulted then double each game and a $100,000 fine for each game missed or just an automatic season suspension , if you cant control your anger then perhaps a nice long rest will give you time to get therapy and learn how to play responsibly

  21. Greig pumping a slapper into the empty net was definitely disrespectful in the hockey sense. I can understand that side of it, however, that is all tossed aside given Rielly's "answer" for that gesture. Going "full Dale Hunter" as it was described as a response to a play like that is completely unacceptable. Rielly should be suspended quite heavily as a result — there's zero justification for that level of response. Totally classless.

  22. Seems like a classic "talk shit, get hit" situation except a bit more metaphorical.

  23. I am a diehard Leafs fan and I had to sit there arguing with donkey Leafs fans last night. I was saying there is a fine line between inaction and crosschecking a guy in the head, and people are sitting there saying that if you violate the hockey code, which slapshotting on an empty net does, then you deserve to have a stick used as a weapon against your face. Absolutely ludicrous nonsense.

  24. I’ve seen a lot of people on twitter with this mindset of “greig deserved it” and talking about ‘breaking the code’.(I’ve also seen people say that Reilly hit his shoulder and didn’t even get him in the head lmao) Not one time over the course of my life playing hockey has anyone cared about the way an empty netter was scored, hell, one of my buddies scored one between the legs once and nobody did anything but laugh. I have however been jumped after I pointed at the goalie after scoring. The way people seem to care about how an empty net goal goes in is mind boggling to me. It was also in the dying seconds of the game which makes even less sense as to why you would crosscheck the guy in the head.

  25. Rookie got schooled by a vet, now he gets to take a time out…the woke Karen's won't accept that this is the way hockey rolls.

  26. He took a clapper @ an empty net, who gaf?

I occasionally play hockey with Pierre Turgeon. Hes still amazing
