I’ve never cared for what this guy has to say. He’s just Tom Wilson except he can’t get points. That’s why he gets traded from team to team, he adds no value to the team. He’s just a loud-mouthed jerk.

  2. TotSaM-

Breaking News: Notorious bridge troll thinks that bonking someone over the head with a bone club is the only sensible solution to losing a game of hockey.

  3. trafficconejones

This is the same guy who complained that WiFi ‘jumped’ him early in the year – and now a crosscheck to the face is ‘within the code’…I agree that the leafs had to respond to the eng but just give the guy a slash and drop the gloves and the whole situation is over.

  4. Square-Ad-464

If someone insults you you have the right to put them in the hospital. Hurting feelings is serious and deserves violent retribution. Also, I’m a very tough guy that isn’t bothered by anything.

  5. McQueen-9595

I don’t like his use of words here, I agree it should be aggressive, but violent is a stretch. He is becoming a bit of a Tom Wilson, he just isn’t as good so people don’t talk about him as much. Leafs needed him after Simmonds though because they never have any enforcers on their teams. I rarely catch any fights on while watching leafs games and if they are it’s a shitty ass one. Like Rielly’s check the other day was the most aggressive thing that they’ve done all year.

Reeves is probably just fed up that it’s left to him bc his team is weak.

  6. Fleganhimer

Reaves framing Rielly as the victim in this scenario. He never forgets his clown shoes at home.

  7. Acrobatic_Flatworm79

Oh look the pylon stapled to the bench has an opinion

  8. VanillaLoaf

Basically saying « here’s what to do if you want to get Leaf suspended. »

  9. letters2nora

He’s never on the ice when anything important is happening.

  10. Grover_1976

Awe, poor guy. His feelings were hurt by an empty net slapshot.

  11. Beelzebub_86

Ryan Reaves, ~~the voice of reason.~~ Assclown.

  12. Doubleoh_11

These damn young kids – An excuse that’s basically never been on the right side of history

  13. space-is-big

Absolute snow flakes on reddit its embarrassing

  14. PilotNo312

I mean go for it, but you know that you can’t hit to the head.

  15. OkNinja3706

Just when you thought you couldn’t hate Toronto ANY more…

  16. Why are they even asking him? The equipment manager has a greater positive impact on the game than he does.

  17. JeSuisAmerican

When you’re a dumb hammer, everything looks like a nail I suppose.

  18. FatTim48

This is entirely self serving. He’s irrelevant in today’s NHL, and plays about 4 mins a night, when he actually dresses for a game.

He’s got 2.5 years remaining on his contract, which equates to around 42 minutes of ice time left.

  19. ScottyEs_burner

It’s hard for Ryan to make it violent since the majority of his season is spent as a healthy scratch.

  20. shallowcreek

The leafs are making it clear that if you embarrass them, it will hurt their feelings so badly they will throw a hissy fit for days on end, take stupid penalties and hurt themselves even more, so you should absolutely take every opportunity to disrespect them

  21. vanillaninja16

Imagine being this soft and thinking you’re the tough one

  22. Winter-Structure-730

This guys such an idiot lol or maybe he’s a genius getting the leafs to pay him that money for the 1 minute and 23 seconds of ice time he gets a game

  23. droeyourhero

If the egos on your team are so fragile to where an empty net slapper triggers you then enjoy another first round boot. Get mad at losing the game.

  24. Fantastic_Board7057

If Sean Avery can get half a season for saying marginally bad things about some dudes gf, Reilly is getting more than a game

  25. 1weegal

Not shocking he was sent out to finish the seconds of the game on the ice So cringy.

  26. SouthSide217

Man, the way he talks about what Greig did and paints Rielly as a victim because he’s going to get suspended while « a young kid can get away with something like that. » If I didn’t know what Greig did I’d think it was something so terrible.

The dude seriously thinks what Greig did was as bad or even worse than a crosscheck to the melon lol. It’s crazy watching some of the strongest, most athletic, *grown ass men* be so fragile over such small shit.

  27. davedog81

Coming from the guy that only knows how to fight and gets 3 minutes ice time a game. And when he is on the ice he looks like a baby giraffe trying to walk. Dude is bounced around teams more often than a 10 dollar hooker.

  28. Ok-Practice-2325

    « I was expecting a fine » rofl

  29. komputernik

This is why the suspension needs to be more than 10 games. To send a message.

  30. Crispy_FromTheGrave

I’m just saying if you don’t like it when the other team scores, then stop them

  31. Fattapple

So I want to see people taking clappers into open nets then turn around ready to fight.

  32. Right-Aspect2945

Anybody who thinks a slapshot into an empty net deserves a stick to the head deserves the suspension they are going to get so they can rethink the important things in life. Absolutely childlike behavior.

  33. meesanohaveabooma

Anyone defending Reilly is a plug. Idc how « disrespectful » the empty netter was, it doesn’t warrant a cross check to the head.

Only thing that deserves a FIGHT is a dirty hit or play, or fucking with the tendy.

  34. SicFidemServamus

Fuck the Leafs. The day of the rake is coming.

  35. Oreos182

Wouldn’t expect anything else from the absolute worst player in the game.

  36. Peskygriffs

The absolute last person in the nhl whose opinion I will take seriously is Ryan Reaves. Dude was lucky to even be in the NHL “back in his day” and even luckier to be on a roster now.

  37. ANARCHISTofGOODtaste

If someone takes him out the second his skates touch the ice, no one would care….except him maybe.

  38. tictacballsack

Man the leafs are really hard to like this year

  39. CrotchSwamp94

Ryan Reaves is a clown. Goofy ass ahh cope and seethe

  40. Willing-Distance5543

boy,Leafs and their fans cry and whine as bad as MAGA does.pathetic

  41. Clerkdidnothingwrong

    “A push”.

That was a blatant cross check to the head. Reaves is a clown.

  42. Clunt-Baby

You should send them a message by scoring a god damned goal, not throwing temper tantrums

  43. TimeNat

dudes a goon, making hockey violent is one thing, straight up cross checking a guy in the head when the game is over is different.

  44. AFriendlyFYou

What an absolutely bonehead comment to make.

Reaves you’re a 37yo 4th liner. You’re not exactly the type of player that teams are fighting for and willing to take risks to have on their team.

Intent to injure is never a hockey play, regardless of the reason. And here you are going on record essentially saying that you do consider it acceptable and even would have done so in this situation.

The refs will remember this and now won’t have to think twice if they’re considering calling you for a major/match penalty nor will the DOPS have to think twice when assessing for intent to injure at any future hearings.

And that’s something teams are definitely going to include in discussions when you’re being traded next time around. Is the risk of game defining 5min penalties worth the benefit of having you on their team?
