1. Isles own pj judas laffs this season. Laffs so not a contender. Same script for most isles wins. Isles outshot-again. Good-Sorokin shines-again. Useless waste of forward spot pierre scores winning goal. 18 must have like laff tribute before game like he was laff royalty for 250 games played one 35 pt season. That is just bonkers to comprehend. Bad-Wahlstrom in line-up. Does nothing. pk gives up goal-again-to pj judas.
thw article 'Isles next stretch could lead to more changes' citing underwhelming play of louzers recently extended career worst play of 24, 18, and underwhelming play of 27, 44, 53 and others. 13, 14, 8 top end guys have been good, the depth after that has gone silent. And saying with all those no trade clauses isles can't move on from all those long term contracts and need to explore options to get rid of a few of them. HAHA good luck with that. Major magic trick by louzer to do that. Also the teams prospect pool is shallow with no blue chip prospects. HOLY FK prognosis bleak for isles as each win keeping isles in race = first round pick dangled FOR SALE by louzer.

  2. Entertaining game featuring much better D. It's a good start to the stretch run, but we need to string together 5 or 6 consecutive regulation wins to get back in the race.

  3. HEY GIL HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED DOING A 3 HOUR LIVE SHOW THROUGH AN ENTIRE GAME BRING UP PEOPLE LIKE NIKA EMPIRE SMADAS AND HAVE EVERY ONE WATCHING IT TOGETHER..AND THEN TAKE A BREAK AND HAVE AN AFTER SHOW …I THINK YOUR FAN BASE WILL GROW QUICKLY AND YOU CAN BRING A FEW OF YOUR LOYAL FANS UP ON THE SCREEN AND 5 TO 8 PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO CHAT LIVE AND JUST TALK ISLES FOR AN HOUR..THIS CHANNEL HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL

  4. We played faster hockey it felt, but we looked tired in 3rd until Toronto scored, then we upped the tempo again and got dividends. Very good game.

  5. It took me exactly 5 games to become a Patrick Roy fan. I wasn't a fan of him as a player at all. As a coach though, he has nothing but positive things to say about his team, and his enthusiasm is having an impact. It seems like the players really want to play for him. Lambert's personality and demeanor didn't seem like a fit for this team at all. We'll see if it translates into enough wins to squeak in. I don't think they have the talent to do much damage if they get in, but they do have resiliency and determination now with Roy as the coach.

  6. Oliver W is like too many players who achieve significant success in major junior or AHL who play at 80% effort

This simply not good enough in the NHL

    His player is

    Power skating
    Speed
    Quickness
    Play away from the puck

But you missed another aspect of his game

Play away from the puck offensively

He never puts himself in the position to succeed and take advantage of his shot

He plays as if all he has to do is just shoot the puck

  7. Oliver lack of speed and quickness and his offensive play away from the puck will doom him

Much of the same issues that plague Dufour

  8. Don't know if this game means anything but Roy make them play hard since he take over I can watch whole game without fooling to sleep during the game and that's big plus for me LGI

  9. Great win. Good for McLean nice move. Envell gets one against his old team. I don't like the goal in the 3rd. I don't think serokin was set. Sloppy goal. But all is well that ends well. We can score board watch. Need to win out! Or close to it

  10. Was a very solid game for isles and barzal looks great! With the return of pulock and pelech if islanders add at deadline would I still look for defense or go strictly offensive add

  11. the onlyl two things i can complain about on this glorious win. 1. reaves clearly challenged martin and then when martin wouldn't answer the bell proceeeded to run martin and then half the team and no one did anything.. i get it martin doesn't want to fight anymore and he's old but then you don't deserve to be on the roster. that's your role. 2. wally

  12. Good morning team. Gil, I agree. Very emotional win in Toronto. Everyone knows how much I LOVE getting wins over Leafs. Mistakes were made, I don't expect perfect games. Eliminating the ones you can control through discipline is a plus. Still not very happy giving up that PP goal. Work still needs to be done there. Although, I believe Sorokin should have been able to handle that scoring shot better than he did. Even Sorokin's play seemed much improved. A win is a win. I hope to see plenty more. We have the Lightning in a couple of days, and we're home for that one!! Have a great day, everyone. See you all tomorrow. Until then.. LET'S GO ISLANDERS!!

  13. Gm Gil. The Isles certainly have the Leaf's number! Well played game except for a few turnovers and that dumb penalty by Oliver W. I'm not convinced he deserves a roster spot. The Isles D needs to improve especially keeping the scoring chances inside the dots to a min. They are the worst in the league giving up high quality scoring chances.

  14. What a game! Still wonder why Gauthier was put on waivers. Do they actually want to see what Wahlstrom can do or maybe a trade is coming. All I know is it’s a nice breath of fresh air with Roy behind the bench. I love his passion for the game.

  15. Roy really impressed me right off the bat even before this game with the play in their own zone and shots are down. The hustle and they also look a little more organized on the ice.

  16. Beating the Leafs and Rangers is the absolute best. The islanders looked good, barzal was flying

  17. They did play well. I think since Roy has arrived these guys have been playing with a purpose. You mentioned multiple reasons why these guys get pumped up in Toronto, do you think they still get pumped because of Pajama Boy? I know many fans including myself still love to see him have a bad night. Also it’s good to have Pulock and Pelech back together.

  18. Loved what Butchie said about the 3 high attack entering the O zone up the middle. It worked so they could spend more time in the O Zone. Sorokin should have got a star. Stopped 3 or 4 shots late. McLean cool settling the puck down and scoring. Glad to see Reilly back. I think he should stay. Matthews luckily decided to take the night off which he does. They don’t like the physical game. Hence Isles sweep the series. Both of the other goals were rebounds. Isles at 50 games 11 points behind the Rangers who won in OT yesterday. Get ready to play them and the Devils and the Penguins again.

  19. Every single game, under Roy, has been decided by one goal. I'm seeing lots of progress in the way we play. Lambert did a lot of damage, so it will take time to fix all of it. But they're playing way better now. Barzal is flying out there. So good to see. I think Trotz and Lambert suffocated him. I love Roy as a player and coach. I love his post game review. He's very honest and upbeat, and funny too. You can tell, the reporters like him. This team still needs to get healthy and make some changes, but under Roy (and maybe some new assistants), I think this team can turn it around. We only need two points to tie the Flyers for that 3rd spot in the Metro. Let's keep it going! Let's go Islanders!

  20. I can’t stress enough how fatigued you can get if you’re not paying every game. Yeah, you can miss a game here or there but in Wahlstrom’s case? He’s barely played in months and he’s nowhere near game-shape ready. That’s going to take 6-10 games and that’s on Lou, Trotz and Lambert. I’ve been in that position (not pro) but a decent level and fatigue leads to unnecessary penalties and makes a coward out of all of us! I’m glad that Patrick Roy is letting Wahlstrom know that he will be playing every game.
Every hockey player makes mistakes. So just go out there Wahly and play your game without being so darned concerned that you’re going to get benched, if you make a damn mistake because everyone sitting on that bench last night makes mistakes every game. My gut tells me that Lou gave Patrick Roy complete autonomy to make all and any decisions on all levels, period. So if I’m a NY Isles player? I don’t kiss his asa but I darn well listen to what he tells me to do and I would buy into his system 100%! It’s going to a while for the players; especially the forwards to stay higher in our D-zone because they’ve been so indoctrinated to come down low in-support of our defense and try to get in the passing lanes! I am so glad that defensive scheme is gone! (Some players are still doing it, but it’s not their fault! That’s what they’ve been told to do for 5 years) If this is showcase for other teams or if Roy truly believes that he can coach Wahly into becoming the player that we all know he can be it's irrelevant because it’s a win-win for both Wahlstrom and the NY Islanders. I’d love to see Patrick coach up Wahy to a 25-30 goal scorer. Talk about poetic justice!

  21. Good win. But a few negatives. They could not hold 3rd period lead. Had to regain it. Pk does not work when needed. Also, I think they are the only team in league without an empty net goal.

  22. Good Morning, Gil, how are you? Congrats to Kyle McClain on his first NHL goal. I know his father, an Islander assistant coach, was on 🌥 9. I think it was that good, swift kick in the pants that they needed, and Patrick Roy gave it to him. Bo Horvath and Cal Clutterbuck put me in mind of Clark "Jethro" Gillies, may he rest, or Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone when it came to his teammates DON'T TOUCH. They're going to look better as the season gets better. You're right, Gil those concussions can be tricky, so Adam Pellach needs to be careful. The All Star Break can make or break a team. I hope it doesn't break them.
