Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

30 games left. If the boys keep playing like they have post All Star break there’s no reason to believe they won’t make it.

GIVE ME FUEL GIVE ME FIRE GIVE ME TIMO F*CKING MEIER

  4. Mad_Burrito_Slinger

Their defense looks a lot better in their zone. I’m also glad daws played well on back to back nights. Not the only person saying this but that Lazar trade looks great, I really like how he plays. I’m hoping that Daws can keep it up. I would love to see him start the stadium series game

  5. corn_n_potatoes

And just like that, we are two points out of a wildcard spot

EDIT: Also, whoever sent me the RedditCares last night, enjoy your « repeated content policy violation. »

And our next opponents got caved 7-0 by buffalo of all teams

  8. OnceAndFutureCrappy

Two mostly complete games in a row. Boys are healthy and hungry, and Daws is looking solid. LET’S.FUCKING.GO.

  9. fartswhenhappy

We’ve looked like a completely different team these last three games.

I don’t know if right after the break, Dano came into the locker room and ripped the D a new asshole but whatever happened is working. I’ve been very impressed with our D play since the break. Dmen are playing far better hockey.

Daws has been the star of the last two games. Its uplifting for the team to know your goalie will make the save and not allow a min of 3 GPG.

Super excited for Timo. Hope he keeps putting up the points. We need him to show up big time for the last half of the season.

Lindy Ruff outcoached Andrew Brunette. Brunette had no answers, no adjustments, nothing at all, in response the Ruff’s brilliant coaching.

Why doesn’t Brunette make adjustments to his ‘system’? How can he allow his players to be out of position so often and fail to cover center ice and the slot?

What kind of coach allows a NON-PLAYOFF TEAM to make 47 shots???? Preds fans want to know. Didn’t Brunette learn anything in his year as at Ruff’s side?

And how can they be asking for season ticket renewals with this loser Brunette behind the bench? And the chicken tenders are not even very good at Bridgestone Arena… Geeez! Fire the GM too. Fire everybody.

What a solid effort to watch live. When the period started off with Bratt almost setting up a goal immediately I knew this would be a good game and the travel the night before wouldn’t be an issue.

Saros was standing on his head though and all I could think about was how Barry Trotz was on the radio earlier in the day saying that he and Fitzgerald talk often and he constantly reminds Fitz that while the Preds don’t need a goalie, the Devils sure do and tonight was just upping that asking price.

That third period all the Devils fans in attendance really made our presence heard after each successive goal. Solid turnout of fans on the road and honestly made as much noise as you normally hear from the teams that bring in way more of their fans (St Louis, Rangers, Chicago, etc).

This week has felt massive for the playoff outlook of this team. So far, they’re rising to the challenge but they’ll have a couple big tests coming up next with what I’m sure will be a frustrated Kings team trying to rebound from being pantsed by Buffalo and a huge marquee game against Philly outdoors that also has major divisional implications.

What a game. One thing I wanted to comment on was the pregame ceremony for “Captains Day”. To me, it felt like a kick in the nuts seeing our GM in the opponents colors, the night we were playing them.

I completely understand it, however, just bad taste to me. Glad we were able to come away with the W.

  14. TediousSpark

I reference my 85 year-old Devils fan of a father a lot here, and I will add this: Though we’ve both been grumbling about some of the frustrating/baffling decisions of coaching/management this season, he keeps reminding me of the metaphysical element of sports we just can’t define and that you just never know when/how a championship team clicks.

Not gonna get ahead of myself, but there’s something to it.

  15. specifichero101

Well that was a well earned win on a back to back after travelling the night before. Now they can return home against a slumping team. They’ve put up some mediocre performances in these scenarios at home this season, let’s hope they prove they’ve turned it around. Win against the kings, and then Saturdays marquee match up with the flyers will be an absolutely gigantic game.

  16. PelloScrambas

Imagine if the team was healthy all year.

  17. AlpineSK

Three solid performances in a row. I’m not sure how many people caught it but Bryce did a great job of breaking down the changes that Ruff and Company made in the team’s defensive scheme. It worked, as their shot suppression, especially in high danger areas has looked MUCH better over the last three games.

Also it bears mentioning that their CF total (87) was the highest in the last three seasons and their HDCF (23) was the second highest in the last three seasons.

This is the kind of disciplined play that we need out of these guys. Let’s hope that they keep it up.

  18. Marvelous_Chaos

Hopefully this opens the floodgates for Meier. I honestly think he’s looked solid since coming back a second time, and now he finally finds the scoresheet.

  19. peppy871

Amazing how close they are to a playoff spot considering all that has gone wrong that season.

  20. InstructionNo3616

Maybe it’s the winning but really glad to not have the baggage of mccleod on the team.

  21. tbones55

Didn’t catch the whole game, but saw there was some kind of controversy that the puck may or may not have crossed the line?

  22. Mr7three2

Really good thing we won. Cause if we lost to Brunette this sub would implode
