Yeah but can he still produce
Flashbacks of sundin…not knocking sundin, from what I remember…juice n kes were saying that sundin was working his butt off to get into game shape. Hmmm
Practice?! We're talking about practice!?
is the background noise just arena sounds from nhl 24?
Don't want to burst a bubble… 99 % of pro athletes are like you and me. You could have been a pro – something if you had been hot housed your whole childhood. That's what category most "pros" fall into. Never let them tell you otherwise… it's a myth that somehow they are super human – I know – I played all sports, and was good at most of them – average in those that i did not excel in.
go back and watch Phil when with the pens he was always like that with his recovery he would hit the bench and look like he was dying
Just let the hotdog eating walrus play. He deserves a chance
3 rings you geeks.
It’s how bad he wants it? He’s not a young man but perfectly capable of being a positive for the team. Put down the junk food and soda drink water ride a bicycle he be alright it’s up to him
I’m thinking of making a comeback too. Working on the pot belly and not being a problem in the dressing room. Will update everyone soon.
Take everything jeff paterson says with a grain of salt. Same goes for w.e lego saysv
I’m excited for the 🌭-Kessel-🌭 line.
"defer" instead of infer, and "weather" instead of whether.
Killin' me, Jake.
You must be kidding what a way to bring a team down with this loser
First practice with a team in a year…..everyone relax
I am not the biggest Canuck fan,but they don't need him. They are doing just fine without him.He needs to either commit himself to fitness,or retire.
He's not signed. The point of the Abbotsford stint is to see if he's worth signing. Let's check back in a week.
"Serious struggles between drills" You mean when he was laughing and smiling? I'm sorry you can't experience joy Jeff.
We need more grit….not kessel
Hmmm. Who do I believe or trust? Some youtube wannabee or REAL hockey people who live it, hard choice….NOT! Allvin and Tocchet, trust them
man i bet kessel is so happy with the organization of Vancouver for just letting him have this chance to try and get back to the form of nhl caliber player. im not sure many other teams would be like "yea u can come practice with our guys for the sake of your OWN conditioning" especially when hes not under contract. i think that alone speaks leaps and bounds about the way this team is managed and coached. even if things dont work out with kessel im sure he will have massive respect for the team for the chance
NHL Ironman : Let the streak continue !
Phil the Thrill is 8 points shy of 1,000. Let it happen in a Canuck uniform.
He needs to pay Gary Roberts a visit 😂 no more hot dogs Phil.
How much is kessel worth
So dumb, anyone who’s played hockey knows hockey cardio is just DIFFERENT! he’s gonna need time to adjust to skating again
Personally, if he looks fine in the drill and the recovery is the issue, it means he is pushing himself hard. That is how it works. How everyone looks day one of training camp after 3 months off, compared to literally 1 month later are night and day. Dude is 36, hasn't played a competitive game in a year. Everyone needs to calm down, lol.
Imagine if this was a 4D chess move to prevent other teams pouching him
All he has to do is stand in front of the net. I don't care if he can't skate. I just want the memes.
one practice in and this is the way Vancouver media spins it? 😅 typical Vancouver media
Working out on your own you are using a different set of muscles than when you play hockey in a group. Hockey is alot about short bursts, stopping and starting, shifts are 1 to 2 minutes max. It's a different kind of exertion that's hard to replicate at home. Tocchet wants short shifts, but high energy for every shift. Fight like a dog on a bone, chip the body when you pass somebody, skate hard 200 feet fight like hell and sprint back 200 feet. Kuzmenko was also "in shape" just not in hockey shape perhaps refer to a similar pattern where he could run 5k but can't explode for 30 seconds. Being bagged after exertion IS a sign of poor cardio. He's exhausted meaning — you're muscles are spent, and you're burning ketones, not glucose lactic acid burning your legs. If you think Kessel's cardio is not the issue playing Tocchet's system then I would ask what are the Canucks evaluating? BTW I hope he makes it. It's a great human interest story.
How is this a surprise? He hasn't played in a year. At this point he is nothing more than an equivalent of an emotional support dog
Why not? Nothing to lose and something gain
Its great that he wants to be here.Give him time and space as a curtesy and perhaps success will follow.Let Canuck management decide their future.Go Canucks!
Tochet clearly wanted to get rid of Kuzmenko and give this fuckin plug one more chance. He will disappear like Jagr… again
I was expecting Ovechkin in his prime! Wth's the matter with him?
