The leafs are the type of team that when they dont have their abundance of stars they become legit elite defensively…and hard to beat
Domi could have had three assist to Bert and should have had a goal himself. Those guys need to start making the bounces to their way. They’re doing everything but finishing honestly
What a difference it makes having players come to a game and know they have to work hard for a win, and not coasting while waiting for one of their superstars to win the game for them.

What we witnessed in this game was a preview of the next generation of the Toronto Maple Leafs. I can see this team winning the Stanley Cup sometime in my lifetime. PUT SOME RESPECT ON BOBBY MCMANN'S NAME.
Tyler Bertuzzi is easily the best 6 goal scorer i've ever seen. He has had very few bad games and somehow has 6 goals

The Leafs opened strong. Then, as they typically do, they missed the start of the second period and were a bit late to get back out there to play. But they came back in the third period with that same level of enthusiasm as they started.
What I do not understand (and trust me, I'm a fan of the Leafs so I wish I could) is why does everyone seem to ignore the fact that the Leafs Play amazing in 40 of the 60 minutes of the game?
I mean, when they lose because of the turnovers or lack of effort in a chunk of the game, it's evident that they suck for 1/3rd of the game and that is just not good enough. But when they get lucky or the goalie dances just right during those 20 minutes, everyone is talking about how amazing the Leafs were and it was a 'whole game effort' or 'the best game of the season'.
This puzzles me. This game was great… against St. Luis. Against Colorado, or Boston, this would have been a Leaf's loss (most likely in regulation but perhaps in OT if McMann got his hatty). They need to be better. If they played likey they played in the first and third – ALL THE TIME, they'd be first in the league and destroying every other team.
can the leafs build on the lessons here? please oh please let it happen.
One good game and McMann ties Domi's season goal totals and is one behind Bertuzzi.
It's not the big four this is the worst supporting cast in Leaf history.
The leafs will trade McMann at the trade deadline for a has-been rental, because core 4. Leafs will be out in the 1st round & McMann will end up with his name on the cup under a different team's name.
