@Kraken de Seattle

1. I doubt this list makes in to cap floor so Im guessing Shannon expects Seattle to trade a lot of these players for better now players. Teams needs to dump salary.

  2. Montreal seems to overpay for french speaking players. I don't think they let him leave. understanding SEA has exclusive negotiating period, but they must have had preliminary talks.

  3. A young team + Mark Giordano with a focus on the future with average age of 25? but has depth. I expect some trades , with the goal of adding draft picks or younger-ish players that teams doesn't want to give up.

  4. Funny that the 2 picks I disagree the most with are the Habs and Tampa pick.

  5. That’s a solid list.
It’s always great to see growth on the channel. Way to go Shannon!

  6. If I am the Kraken I absolutely take Price from the Habs. He's 33, so he will be around the same age as MAF and Mike Smith, who both still look very good, when his contract runs out. Since they are engineering their entire cap space from the bottom up, it wouldn't be very difficult for them to make some small adjustments to other possible plans they had in order to work in Price's cap hit. They can then take Vanecek from the Caps or someone similar and they would have one of the best GK tandems for the next 5 years and a plausible GK for post-Price years. There are SO many good options available to them, they could realistically be a contender from day 1. Some other players that could be sneaky good picks, Bellows from the Islanders, Mahura or Fleury from the Ducks, Giordano if they are contending makes sense, Blackwell or Gauthier from the Rangers, agree with Jake Bean from Canes, Y. Gourde from TB, I actually prefer Connolly or maybe Zach Smith from the Hawks, Max Domi from the BJ's makes sense, definitely Stetcher from the Redwings, Kahaira from Edmonton for me, Jared McCann from Toronto, I am not sure they would take both Kahkonen and Price, so if they don't take Price then Kahkonen is a good option and could then mean Danault from the Habs, Johansen could make sense from Preds but Pitlick or Cousins could also work, Florida I am really not sure about as they have a number of good options available.

  7. Average age of 26, that's a good base of players to start building your franchise from in my opinion. Couple of leader type veterans to bring the team together.

  8. Based on the 26/30 leaks so far, this list is 13/26… pretty good accuracy considering how many possibilities there were.

  9. Here's my Final Team:

    *for pp/pk
if the player averaged 55 seconds or more per game it is deemed they can play on that special team

11 forwards and 5 defensemen that you can trust to play on the pp

8 forwards and 3 defensemen that you can trust to play on the pk

    Projected Cap Hit: $76,091,666
    Projected Cap Space: $5,408,334

14 forwards under contract with 3 RFAs

6 defensemen under contract with 3 RFAs

    I didn't take any UFAs
I also tried to take players that may not warrant a big salary increase next season as UFAs or RFAs,
nonetheless, the weak part of this team will be Cap Management but won't be a problem until the second season.

    Trades may help with that.

    10 UFAs and 5 RFAs in 22-23
    6 UFAs in 23-24

    1 UFA in 24-25

    1 UFA in25-26

    1 UFA in 26-27

This was harder than expected but it really brought out my "inner-geek".
I went for a good mix of youth and veterans.

  10. That was a really good guesstimate. But you are just as "vindictive" as most fans as when it comes to tampa
    which clouded you judgement 🙂
Gourde was the right choice if you care about your team and what the other team's cap situation is like.
It's not about helping tampa or not, it's about helping your own team….
