My Captain! First Habs jersey I got, sadly I don’t have the C on it, bought it too early 😅

  3. We have a very special player as our captain!

Were Bergevin & co stupid as they wanted another prospect (Glass?) in that Pacioretty deal? Or was it Vegas, who could not see the gem Suzuki is? Or did we just get plain lucky? Are prospects really that much of a crapshoot?
    So many questions… 😀

I’ll admit I had doubts he would become a #1c on a cup winning team and though we would need a franchise top 5 pick guy to lead the team while suzuki plays a 70pt 2 way game. I was dead wrong.. if this is how he can lead this team with three third lines behind him I can’t wait to see what he can do with Kirby dach and another top 6 forward to give him secondary scoring. Point per game pace and slafkovsky and caufield had a very slow start to the season. It’s not crazy to think suzuki could hit 100pts when all 3 are in their primes.

The nearly perfectly exponential increase in production is insane. I think a lot of us were hoping for him to be flirting with point per gane numbers this year but then he had « just » 22 points through 28 games and I was like « ah well, almost no one increases every single year. Hope for next year ». And then he fucking erupted and is a lucky bounce away from being back at a point a game (I’d be pretty stoked about 75+ though).

This looks like an absolutely TERRIFYING top line. I know we’re not winning but the future looks great here. For all the shit we give Bergevin (and rightfully most of the time) he put 2/3rds of this top line here and also brought in a lot of other young guys that we’re optimistic about. Kotkaniemi was his rock bottom and he drafted really well in the years following. Just was too little too late.

Habs have a really good first line. The other 3 suck, but first is good.
