I trust Korpi enough going forward he's proved that with a team playing an actual system in front of him he can be good enough. I'm not moving players for that price on Saros especially considering how inconsistent goalies are. Shane Pinto and Nemec are untouchables for their teams the Preds could ask but nothing will happen if that's who they want

As a devils fan, if it takes giving up mercer to land an elite goalie then im all for it
Mercer & Nemec end the conversation for a Saros trade. Any combination of Holtz, Seamus Casey, or Arseni Gritsyuk in addition to a first round pick is more than fare. I get Trotz position, he doesn't need to let him go but we also know Trotz is not going to be able to resign Saros at the end of 24-25 season when he has Askarov who will be taking over at that point. Just wait for him to go to free agency. In the meantime Fitz can call Grier and persue Kähkönen.
Cozens for Saros makes SOOO much sense imo. The Preda need young center deph and he is a top 6 centerman who thrives under high minutes. The Sabres dont really need Cozens considering all of the elite talent they have and the fact they absolutely need a goalie. Not like Saros is an old head either. Still has probably 5-6 years left of elite Hockey.
Nemec and Mercer are non-starters when it comes to trades. If the Preds want a young NHL forward with potential, Holtz and a 1st for Saros? Hotlz is 22yr former 7th overall who could easily become Forsberg 2.0. Devils also have Seamus Casey and Lenni Hämeenaho who are prospects that either are or are close to being blue chips.

as a sens fan this makes no sense to go after him.
i think we dont need to be sellers and staios sees that, besides kubalik brandstrom, hamonic and joseph we have nothing to worry about, i mean 5m comes of the books at the end of this year and if we get rid of these names thats another 9m added and sure sandersons 8m contract kicks in but we still have 6m in cap without it going up, so why would we stress. if the team stays healthy and we add a second line lw and a second line rd we'd smoke the division trust me. as for trading a ld sure we can i mean youre not playing any of those first line ld on the third but a really good offer has to come in.

say cap goes up 3m plus the 6m i would've freed us that enough to sign pinto a lw and and rd. and u can also get rid of forsberg if need be and put merilainen as a back up.

From a Nashville fan, I'd be ecstatic with Mercer or Necas coming back as part of it, but I doubt that happens. That said, I like a package that looks like Seamus Casey, a 1st, and Vanecek/Schmid/mid-round pick coming back to Nashville. Nashville also really needs a future top pair RD as well as top 6 centers, and after seeing what Casey can do that would be the piece I go after unless Nashville can get one of Mercer or Necas.
Preds fan here. If I have to part with my juice, there’s not enough draft picks in the world. Add some in sure but I want some some young offensive talent with big upside

Personally, if I'm the Devils, there's no shot that I trade away the house for Saros. Especially when Laurent Broissoit, Anthony Stolarz, David Rittich and Chris Driedger are all becoming FA's at the end of the season.
