I have read that arbitration is brutal as teams are drying to drive down the AAV so things are said that may be hurtful to the player.
I’m gonna be completely honest, people are reading waaaaay too much into things. The primary reason swayman went to arbitration is because of a tight salary cap but you aren’t allowed to mention that so obviously some hurtful things will be said. He acknowledged this after signing his 1 year extension, he understood it was a business and that things would be said that aren’t true. He clearly still loves it here in Boston
