Blake has to be Gone at this Point, I Mean Right!? Pains me to say it though. Something is just wrong with the teams chemistry, which is so odd considering that they had such an amazing amount of chemistry in the first 1/4 of the Season. Atomic Bomb to the Grey Cells…it's just Shocking how we have lost our Mojo!
A drunk beer league team could have beat the kings last night. I think it is time for boxes to be handed to most of the front office and probably the coaching staff. This is a mess and i don't even know where to start to try to fix this. Probably a full house cleaning of the front office and coaching staff and probably a buyout of somebody. Sad to see California teams not doing well this season.

The lack of effort last night and zero hitting was pathetic. I didn't see anyone giving 100%. They have a big problem if that's all the fight they can muster. Wide open goals all over the ice. The problem was not thee goaltending. 22 hits is 7 a period and I didn't see any hard hits, no fights, no heart.
The Kings must of still been hungover after hanging out at Iafallo’s pad!

I suppose what hurts though, is that we have been telling ourselves as Kings fans for Years now "That Anything can Happen in the Playoffs".
With justification, mostly certainly! As you had mentioned, having done it in the past with the 2012 Championship Club. (GKG 🏆)
However teams like the 2012 Champs, even the 14' sort of, weren't really expected to do nearly as well as they did. A bit of a Dog and and All That.
They were Brilliant Playoff Runs, Heck I get Goose Bumps just Thinking about em'!
However this Team had such high expectations to start the season. Which, to be honest in my 40+ years as a fan, this hasn't always been the case.
One might say that most of the Kings successes (Excluding the Gretzky Years) have come from Team Constructions that had less expectations then this current team, possibly, maybe?!
I certainly remember, subjective of course, that most seasons following the Gretzky Team as aforementioned.
Where ones in which I usually watched the first game with that blind love and team hope for success.
But secretly I was always wishing the Kings could be an elite team with higher expectations entering the season.
We usually just haven't been that Headliner Team going In.
I suppose why?!,…hmmm, it might be because in the past decades our identity has been a cycle and grind team with sound structure.
Dare I say a Head down Hard Working team rather then Finesse/Speed. We also rarely had 3 full lines to roll over with previous teams. Certainly in terms of talent of which we currently have. It is a bit mind boggling to say the least.
Now, I am by NO means suggesting that we want to regress to such a philosophy once again, the league is different of course.
Rather, I suppose, what I am wondering to myself, as I possibly imagine many other Kings Fans are as well.
Is one simple Question??
What is the current Kings Identity at the moment?
As a lifelong fan I can honestly say I don't really know.
Are they overly physical?, are they all speed and finesse?, are they sound in team structure? ( maybe in defense not so much lately though), are we a trap team?, are we veterans or youth? Is the balance between ages working? Will age be an issue down the stretch?
Gosh one sure can see a lot of questions when analyzing the team at the moment. Don't even really have to look to hard.
The worst part or rather scariest being a die hard fan is, that I'm not confident the Kings know who they are at the moment,…Unfortunately.
I wonder what your thoughts might be on such subjects Eddie?
That said I hands down agree that we have far too much talent not to be a playoff team.
I personally have a feeling that something is going on behind close doors that has zapped the team unity, which had been present in the first 1/4 of the season.
Pure speculation of course that carries biases I'm sure. However it just feels off though…

I don't think Blake should be trusted to make any more trades. I was not a fan of the PLD trade to begin with. I'm even less thrilled with it now. The assets Blake gave up and the money spent on PLD should have been used to upgrade the situation in net. We are spending less on goaltending than any other team in the league and we are up against the cap. I hope the team proves me wrong but I don't see us getting out of the first round of the playoffs. Again.
