I think it is good to hear straight from the horse’s mouth a bit about what’s *actually* going on. I found his choice of words “When those headlines start coming out, he (Trotz) will calm me down” to be interesting.
Obviously one must take anything with a grain of salt, even from the player that’s the subject of rumors.

It’s all about the deal. Any player could get traded if his contract allows it and his team gets back more than what they think he is worth to them.
He seems like a great guy, has performed consistently well and plays a ton of games. He doesn’t have a scary contract. There’s not one negative thing about Juuse Saros I can see that woukd make you want to trade him.
Nashville has no outside compelling reason like bad cap trouble to dump him, either.
It’s also true goaltending is an area of strength for the org and if they traded him, it would not mean armageddon for the team’s future.
He’s also one of the few assets they have that could bring something back worth a lot.
If they do trade him, it’s probably because they think they got a great deal. If they don’t, then no one was probably offering a great deal.
If the objective is to just get something, anything for him, next year’s trade deadline is the time to do that.
