My mom – who got me into the habs so many decades ago used to tell me stories of Boom Boom. Her favorite was when she got to meet him and get his autograph). He was playing in some type of special fan appearance at the Windsor Arena of all places. This story is my oldest first (or second I guess) hand memory of Les Habitants.
Fast forward 30ish years and I (as an 20ish year old) had my jersey signed by Lafluer in a bar in Windsor (he was there with Bobby Hull) for a silent auction.
Fast forward another 30 years and I still watch nearly every game today. I guess it’s about time I head to Montreal to meet one of the youngsters – just to keep it going. 🤣
