  1. Question should be what took so long for this to happen ?
This should have happened a few years ago

  2. The jackets have big potential in about 2-3 seasons. What they need at this point is an identity. Someone to come in and say, ok, we’re gonna be the team who out scores our opponents every night. Or we’re gonna the team who locks down our opponents. Or the team who plays physically and keep’s opponents off balance. At the end of the day, jarmo just made trades and hoped that things stuck and provided zero direction. As far as the future goes, yes, they have great prospects. But what I’ve noticed is they’re always one of the youngest teams in the NHL. With all the prospects coming up soon, they need to sell at the trade deadline, make space for the future, and acquire a few veteran players to actually lead the way.

  3. Lindholm and Provorov would make a nice top pair but…

Get Jiricek on the damn roster. He's got potential.

  4. Also I too agree JD and Mike has to go. They should have all been released along with Babcock! They definitely did not do they're due diligence!

  5. The Babcock crying nevers ends with Toronto fans. I guess it is in line with the pussification of the NHL!

  6. Fellas, the timing of this simply revolved around JD’s health. He has been out of commission a lot of the season and recently became well enough to return to the office. Now that he’s back he can temporarily take over duties and search for a new GM.

  7. As a Jackets fan and a leafs hater, everytime I hear someone bring up that series win as a playoff win I cringe, it’s so embarrassing that we have to mention that everytime someone talks about our playoffs record. Hopefully now we can start winning more so everyone can just forget about that lol

  8. My theory is that ownership waits for Davidson to get a new gm then fires him too. That way they don’t have to find a new gm themselves. The perfect plan for minimal involvement 😂

  9. When asked at the presser "why can Jarmo now?", Davidson first said (before giving additional reasons) that he (JD) has been out of commission the past three weeks due to back surgery. So I'm not sure Steve's theory about the trade deadline 100% holds water. That timing could be part of the calculus, but I'm skeptical that it's the primary reason.

  10. I always found it amusing when Jarmo Kekalainen would push Columbus as a destination place to live for hockey players. Hey I lived in Ohio and I can tell you that Columbus is low on anyone’s destination list.

  11. I'll say Davidson stays in the GM position just shedding the interim title he's in position for the tradeline and prepping for the future why do a reset after that?

  12. Nothin. Nothing gonna happen. They will be bottom feeders till the end. No one gonna make them any better. Jarmo atleast made hefty trades and went all in without afraid of losing.
