WHAT A FUCKING GAME!
Holy shit man. I can’t believe I just witnessed that game. A disastrous first period, Shesty looking like a lost cause, and absolutely no hope of winning the game. Second period was a whole new affair. Shesty shuts the door, offense wakes up and brings us back to within striking distance. Third starts off shaky, the sticks pot one more, but dear god…those final five minutes had me [screaming.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW3NP1Yu6LE) Even now I’m lightheaded and basking in the glow of victory.
As much as I’m elated about this win, the issues with the teams passing, defense, and slow to start offense still pervade. Shesty still seems very shaky, despite that slammed door in the 2nd. Matt Rempe is badass though. What a night.

Fox made one of the sickest plays to keep the puck in the zone before the goal to make it 4-3 that i’ve ever seen. Makar might be the best defenseman in the league overall but Fox as a PPQB is truly elite. His ability to hold the puck in the zone it unmatched. also filthy pass to Mika on the tying goal.

Turning point of the game had to be when they were down 4-1. That’s when I switched from wearing my heritage jersey to the old Stadium Series jersey.
I took my 2014 stadiums series off after 4-1 figuring it was bad luck.

I think what’s really important with today’s win is the team picked up Igor. Rangers fans in particular, are so wired to focus on the goalie. And rightfully so, based on the history of top flight goal tending for decades. For so long, the mentality has been « so-and-so is going to need to stand on his head tonight » because we weren’t confident in the team in front defending, but scoring, most of all. The opposite of that happened today, and it’s pretty awesome to see the team rally around Igor instead of the other story that we’ve heard too often.
