[Jonas Siegel] Il semble que les Leafs dévoileront une unité de jeu de puissance n°1 à cinq attaquants. Tyler Bertuzzi rejoint Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander et le retour de John Tavares.

If you go back and actually watch all of Bertuzzi’s 10 points from his playoff run that everyone brings up all the time, a huge portion of them (I believe 6/10) were as the net front presence on PP1, usually either making quick dishes to Pasta or deflecting in shots. It may be worth using him in this way in order to get the most out of this player while he’s here

I guess having a near perfect powerplay with lilly motoring around is not good enough?

Went 4 for 4 with Liljegren (I know pp2 got one). Why not keep PP1 like that for a few games. I’d be okay with JT anchoring that pp2

So Bertuzzi being force-fed a goal is enough to keep him there?

Liljegren moves the puck really well, has a good shot, why are we still maintaining Bertuzzi’s leash so long?

Replace JT with Liljegren. He was great on the PP last night.

This, I don’t understand. Whyyyyyy wouldn’t you have Lily on there? Move Tavares to PP2 and keep both Lily and Bert on PP1 to see if we have something there, looked good last night

    I’m sorry to Johnny Toranna,

But drop him from PP1 Keefe, please.

I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see this proposed setup working. They’re trying to cram Bertuzzi in there because of last night’s success. It’s illogical to me.

Drop JT down. At the very least it causes you to have some confidence is PP2 where you can share the PP time a bit more and spread things out because JT will protect the puck in the O zone.

Not that you really need it. I think the bigger issue here is forcing PP1 all the time, but I’ll spare you that essay.

Considering Berts side, he’s been an excellent net front presence this year. The guy battles and shows heart. He’s just been snake bit with point production which is an outlier for his career to date.

Love seeing Liljegren distribute the puck. His shot that hit the post would have been a beauty goal but I appreciate him not forcing any shots and keeping the power play fluid.

Many comments here seem to be missing that Liljigren was NOT at practice today which is kind of important context as to why they’d do this.

Liljegren was not at practice before everyone freaks out lol

So marner the only one fast enough and willing to get back. He the new Defense for good now?
Bert gonna be netfront so Tavares doesn’t get beat up. Tavares, Nylander and Matthews will triangle around the net.

Probably because they aren’t sure if Lily is playing tomorrow.

I’d like to see Bertuzzi on PP1 over Tavares. He causes more chaos in front of the net which I think they need.

Should be Lils in Rielly’s place. It’s not like Bertuzzi will even resign

Auston learned he could score off other people and now the coaching staff is making adjustments.

  17. JoemLat

Didn’t this happen before? Not turn out to good? Or maybe that was 3 forwards for overtime?

  18. Huh? That list includes noted Leafs defenceman Mitch Marner.

  19. mattfromjoisey

We’re about to have a ton of SHG against

  20. DrSeuss19

Give puck to Austin, that’s the strat
