The reason I complain is because so far we have entirely wasted Auston’s career. He deserves a proper team around him, not one where Sam Benoit magically learns to defend an an NHL level and Martin Jones plays his best hockey since 2017 to keep his playoff hopes alive.
They did promise pain.

Peter Holland as 1st line centre is a tough look
Only 8 years ago and the only forward to play an NHL game this year is Froese (Kadri and JVR too, but they were injured not in this lineup).
Edit: Brown, Hyman, Kapanen & Nylander too, but this was before they were called up.
Watching the game last night I realized Sam Carrick was still an NHL player, and I thought « My God, remember when I cheered him on? »

we have literally the same point percentage as the defending champs even though we have had massive goaltending issues all year and a series of defensive injuries. and we have the best goal scorer of a generation. if people are complaiming they are just twats…

This is why I enjoy the shit out of this team. I’m 41 and lived through lots of bad teams. I’m going to enjoy 100 point teams regardless of cups. Lots of good teams don’t win. I’ll wait for it while putting up 100+ pts a year as a team. It sure as shit beats being a bad team with no cups.
