No one's even considering that incidental contact is called inconsistently & there was a possibility Ilya – sprawled out – hit Dobson & caused the net to dislodge
The dislodged net rule says "the Referee may award a goal", but was intentionally left vague, nowhere does it say incidental contact does not apply & yet they still confirmed the OT goal so quickly
Those few seconds of waiting for the goal to be confirmed had to be the most silent I have ever heard a hockey game, let alone one with 80k people in the crowd. You could hear a mouse fart.

Ok….this is coming from a pens fan who HATES philly with every fiber of my being(even tho that crosby essentially put the nail in that coffin). If I was a filthy fan I'd be pissed. Yea they gave up the 2 goal lead but there's a reason they say it's the worst lead, but that OT goal was kinda lame. Dude wasn't intentionally knocking the net off(he even sacrificed the body) and the puck didn't cross till the net was WAY off. Even as a ny fan id be a lil bummed it ended on such a dirty goal.
