  1. Lol he's really good but he has not proven himself for nearly long enough to say that chirp and not expect a punch. not like there's anyone who will do something about it tho, there's no enforcing left in the game

  2. I'm a Kings fan, but I pay to watch my TEAM play. Chirps like this from Hughes is arrogant. He's a great player, no doubt about that, but he's still fresh in the NHL and I wouldn't say he's proven himself enough either. I understand that most Devil's fans want to see Jack play more than anyone else on the team, but if you go to game to watch one player, then that's silly. You should want to pay to watch your whole team play, and ultimately win. That's how I feel, at least, and I think that's how most fans feel as well.

Overall, it was a heated hockey moment, that showed some immaturity from Hughes. Chirping is a normal thing, so there's nothing wrong with that, but I hope he learns from this and matures, because "People pay to watch me play" is not the right mentality to have.

  3. everyone is missing the context and what he says first. “are you here to play hockey or to hurt people. people pay to watch me play” totally different context, and this was after a bad elbow to the head into the boards by arvidsson. absolutely valid chirp on jacks part.

  4. Hughes says something factual & shows a bit of personality. Meanwhile all the same people who beg for players to show personality get triggered by this.

  5. Imagine if Sidney Crosby said something like this? That is the difference between Canadian and American Hockey players

  6. Idk I feel like for one thing, people play worse and also that’s definitely a valid chirp when a third line guy like that makes a dangerous play on a star. Also I doubt arvidson was wishing him a nice Christmas anyways, this is just the chirp the cameras caught
