Super weird game yesterday. Bunch of different factors that I think contributed to the loss:
1. Lack of discipline. 4 5 on 3s against, don’t need to elaborate much. We gotta keep our sticks down. Seems like we’re taking tons of high sticking penalties lately.
2. Rough game from DeSmith.
3. A few unfortunate bounces.
4. Tocchet was overly conservative trying to keep guys fresh for today’s game. Should have pulled DeSmith after the 5th or 6th goal when he was clearly getting rattled. Still no idea why he didn’t call a timeout to settle things down, though.
5. Uncharacteristically terrible game from Hughes and Hronek.
Even with all that, we were the better team at 5v5 and nearly pulled even.
Nashville, Blues, Kraken, Wild or Flames?? I want Nashville..
Not really worried. Penalties will cost you games. We had the game under control up until the penalties piled up.
If we played an entire game 5v5, we win 10/10 times against the Wild.
