They should be open to those types of deals as long as they can get a pick or young player to come along with the contract.
However, I am not confident that the Senators would be open to those types of trades.

I doubt Ottawa is looking to make a cap dump. Their cap situation is manageable as is and they’re already going to lose a 1st soon due to the Dadonov situation.

Hey, Sens fan here!
The only absurdly bad deal is Korpisalo, as he’s *at best* a backup goalie and at worst an AHLer but is making $4M for another 4 years. He’s so useless and it’s such a bad deal such that the cost to move him would be so insanely high and they’re simply better off buying him out (8x$1.3M).
Norris and Chabot make a touch too much, about $1.5-2M, but they’re still great players so I highly doubt they’re traded as a cap dump. I think they’d be more likely to retain a touch to get a very good return back, or simply hang on to them.
Otherwise there’s no bad deal on the Sens that they’d want out of.

Okay fine Ottawa, you twisted our arms on this one but we’ll take Brady Tkachuk in exchange for Reichel, 2025 1st (Toronto’s), 2024 2nd, and a 2025 3rd.
