« The scoring shortage is finally over for Ryan Johansen.
The Avalanche center recorded two goals in a 3-1 home victory Tuesday night over the Pacific Division-leading Canucks.
“You’ve got to try and find ways to do as much as you can,” Johansen said. “I definitely wasn’t happy with my game there for a minute. I’m really focusing on trying to do more and it feels good to contribute with a win here tonight.”
Johansen broke through in the second period with his first goal scored since late December. It happened when defenseman Jack Johnson launched a shot from near the blue line, Johansen corralled a rebound off the end boards, and he finished a slick backhander past Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko. »

Hope it’s a turnaround for him, he has been awful otherwise.

Was good to see, but I definitely had that moment of like… wait who was that? Are they new?

Was it me or did he get a lot of ice time? Maybe he was out there as trade bait

Even outside of the scoring I thought he was more noticeable out there, at least noticeable in a good way. No backhanded compliments here, he had a great game.

It’s funny. I remember in the first PP he fumbled a soft pass out of the zone to basically ruin the end of that PP. I was thinking it was the final straw and we needed to get him out. Amazing how 2 goals can flip the narrative.

Bednar made a comment as to how Vancouver was defending with their wings cutting off cycles to the point and told the team – now do THIS fuckers. Zach Parise did exactly that and boom, goal. Ryjo, stand in front of the net with your long ass monkey arms and find a puck.

I’m glad for him.

Since it usually seems like an effort issue I’ve been hoping he turns it way on in the playoffs. Hopefully this is a sign that might happen.
