They won't be in first place for long if this slump keeps up. Rick Tocchet needs to start coaching again. It's almost like The coaching staff seems to have relaxed the structure that was in place when they were having success.

The canucks are 4th in the league vs teams in playoff position. >60%. Teams like the oilers are <50%. Winning vs playoff teams is not the issue.
Just because I'm looking at things in context doesn't in any way mean that I don't have high standards or expectations. If that game hadn't been preceded by those two others, absolutely nobody would be complaining about the effort or the result. My expectations of Rutherford were always high, never wavered, and have been borne out.

Lets say that they resign Lindholm, and Tocchet see him as a C. Miller also sees himself as a C and has been vocal about that for a couple of years. The fact that Tocchet has moved Pettersson to the wing and not the other two, could that become a problem in the context of resigning Pettersson. As in, he like most hockeyplayers are team first guys, but you shouldnt discard the fact that he sees himself as a C as well and I dont really see that he in the long term would be satisfied to play left wing. Could this potentially be a dealbreaker for him when it comes to the coach and ultimately the team when it comes to extending? My opinion is that it can
Need net presence directly in front of the goalie. Net guy is standing on the side looking to tip. Too many slap shots. Need well placed wrist shots.

Why do people keep making excuses for Ilya recovering from ACL surgery? His skating and speed look fine. Your knee doesn't affect you hands, puck management, grit, and hockey IQ which he appears to lack. As a fan you try and be patient but sorry his hands are absolute concrete!
