Awesome report Mike! Re: Binnington: The guy should focus on keeping the puck out of his net instead of pretending to be a tough guy and being a detriment to his team's success. Every player knows how to get under his skin and when they do his game goes in the toilet. Re: Isles vs Rangers: What a choke job by the Isles…wow!!!!! Had the game under control and proceeded to blow it. Heck…even a rookie pounded on Matt Martin. Double insult!!!! Re: Jagr: Holy Crap! The guy looks like he could still lace 'em up in the NHL. What a player. I have said all along that Jagr is one of the best ever to play the game and if he had stayed in the NHL for his whole career instead of going back overseas, he would have broken Gretzky's goal record…NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!! Re: Habs: I do hope they can move Armia and Allen. It's time! Mike…lots of goalie injuries out there man…I am thinking Allen will go and Armia could be a good fit for a contender…..3rd line role….he's been playing better of late. Well Hanny just shorted the Calgary trade efforts for Nj and other teams. Looks like the Devs could now get Hanny and Marks for a nice deal of Holtz for Hanny and VV for Marks giving up 1st round (15 -19) also.
If flames take a goalie it won't be part of the balance of the trade. They dont want or need one.
The NHL are horrible making trades .. they wait till the last second to do anything.

i htink this probably gets done as well. but no way NJ is giving up Nemec. probably be something like Seamus casey, Holtz and 2024 first for hanafin and markstrom with 50% retained.
Armia seems like the just the kind of player the NYR would go for if the asking price does not include a 1st and salary is retained. Maybe a 2nd and a 3rd, 4th or a prospect.

I like the idea of trading Kubalik,and possibly some others.Ottawa needs to cleanup the books and get some much needed cap space.Kubalik,Norris and Chabot if they can move him during the season.Another option is to find a team that Girioux could go to,to win a cup.Thats up to the player.He has limited time to get go the cup

Oskar Steen was placed on waivers,sent to Providence B's AHL in exchange for bringing up 6' 5" 245 lb Justin Brazeau.
But we may see him again because there's no salary cap during playoffs!

The perfect fit for armia is Dallas, I think he would fit right in with other Finnish players and with salary retained, I feel like he can do good in a bottom 6 role there. I think they might be interested as well. It would probably only cost them a fourth round pick. If not, then probably a fourth and another fourth.

This is the thing that Flames fans don’t want from New Jersey, the goaltender Vanecek. It makes no sense unless Flames move goaltender, Vladar too. If New Jersey wants Markstrom, New Jersey would have to deal Vanecek elsewhere. Or if you send Vanecek our way, it’s like a sweetener to take him only to waive his contract for contract termination.

Two things happening in New Jersey, 1) during the Allstars break they changed the D scheme and goals against ate WAY down. 2) Nico Daws has been stellar in net. Both of these scenarios will flip the pressure to Calgary to make the deal happen. This week be huge to see who blinks first…if the Devils keep winning Calgary might have to eat some salary.
