Incredible praise from a coach who doesn’t give out compliments very easy

Glad to see our prospect development has taken a turn around

Raty is doing amazing, 34 points in 49 games. I see a call up for him next season

Podkolzin has been crushing it, 27 points in 42 games. Also seeing a call up for him

Karlsson, 34 points in 37 games, but I see him as a depth player/4th liner tbh.

Sasson 29 points in 41 games is solid for a rookie in the AHL

Willander in the NCAA and Lekkerimaki in the SHL are well on their way to earning spots.

Eye tests fail for McDonaugh, Klimovich, and Hirose though

I think the honeymoon phase is about over for Bains he’ll need to start producing to earn a regular spot and be judged as nhl regular soon or take a defensive fourth line roll and be solid every game.

The thing that stands out with Bains to be me is sees the game very well, you see it with his quick passes and setups, also why Tocc played him with skilled guys not just on 4th line.

I think he is going to need to produce a bit to stay in the lineup especially where they have him slotted, I don’t see the physical straight ahead game that Tocc likes down there. That’s not to say it’s not there or he can’t develop it, but Canucks are looking for solutions right now – it’s not a knock on him if he’s ultimately not 100% ready for it.

Very encouraging start and a great story

He can clearly hang in the NHL. Looking forward to see how he develops in the near future!

He needs to start producing soon or hes gonna not gonna play, hes def better then mikheyev so i think he should stay in anyways

Pretty sure Tocc pumps his tires to create a competitive environment for the bubble guys on the team.
    Keeps them in their toes.

Here’s why Bains is really solid and the comments here saying Tocchet is blowing smoke are wrong.

Watching the 3rd period of the Boston game again, he does a few things really well. He goes to the front of the net and is tough to play against. That alone will win you favors with the coach. He’s really good at spacing, when he’s not net front he’s floating into the soft areas to give his teammates options. He’s a good physical player who can check, helping turn pucks over. Plus he looks really calm out there.

Personally Im very happy he’s on the team and playing well so early in his career. It bodes well for the team’s forward depth that he appears to be a solid player

Bains feels like he has the opposite of most prospects. A ton of them get great points, have these amazing skills, but are lacking in the hockey IQ for playing at the top level, and thus, their skills can’t translate as well.

Bains from the few games so far seem to have a pretty solid hockey IQ. I think that is why others want him put in certain spots. They can see he’s got that eye to him. He just needs to polish up on his skating, get a bit faster, and work on the egregious penalties. He’s gotten some great chances and set up others for great chances, too. I truly hope he can continue to shine with the club, its been amazing to see.

Wonder if this means either DG or Aman or going down
