  1. Stu has elite skill, he’s shown it as recently as last month. He just needs better mentorship. Where is the elite coaching?! Get him someone who actually has league experience. Get him sufficient downtime.

  2. At this point can Campbell do any worse? All the Skinner defenders are telling Oil Fans to chill tf out. It's about consistency. Skinner's inconsistency is alarming and should be alarming to Holland. I'm 100% in favour of giving Campbell 1 or 2 games back in the big show. You've gotta think Campbell is hungry to get back in NHL action. My guess is Campbell wouldn't piss that opportunity away.

  3. I don’t know what some of these questions even were? One guy on his 2nd attempt cuz Stu doesn’t know what the question is either “This doesn’t feel in your own mind, like the first month, in terms of your own play” Stu still had to clarify what the question is.

These reporters really got to simplify the questions. Tony Brar gets it. Asked a straight question.

  4. "That's the way it rolls sometimes." Skinner, training camp is over. Just a reminder, you're a starter now, not a back-up. "Learning from our mistakes", reality needs to set in for you and if you can, you need to step up!

  5. No question, the D hangs Skinner out to dry on most nights. Skinner's got to find ways to goaltend his way around bad defense and clean his game up. Better positioning, better anticipation, no rebounds, better focus. Great goalies are always one step ahead of the shooter. When you suddenly find yourself one step behind the shooter you lose games. Maybe Skinner has been in the NHL long enough to know the habits of all the passers and snipers. Maybe he hasn't. Experience is invaluable. When you take a deep dive into Skinner's analytics there's not enough of a sample size to tell you he can carry a team on his back for a deep playoff run. This is the inexplicable fire Holland keeps playing with by not addressing the goaltending issues. The only logical reason he won't sell the farm on a true #1 goaltender is 1) price is too high 2) won't commit the assets 3) doesn't want a Campbell 2.0 scenario and end up looking like the donkey of GMs if it doesn't work out… again 4) there are no takers for Campbell's contract 5) Holland and Jackson are putting offers out there, but assets are not enough to make adeal 6) Holland and Jackson refuse to overpay 7) Holland really believes Skinner is a Stanley Cup goaltender. One thing I do know is that the answer will be revealed in due course as the trade deadline is soon to be upon us.

  6. I get that he’s not playing his best, neither is the team ahead of him! There is no need for the media to keep at it and make him feel even worse! He knows it; dwelling on it can’t help his confidence

  7. At present Skinner is a grade B goalie. He is weak on face-to-face distance shots. His reflex, left to right, ability to get up, also bad. He can't the team with average defense in front of him. An ideal backup at this time.

  8. Nurse is just a physical D. standing around the net and couldn't stop netfront goals. Vastly overpaid and he is not a leader on the ice. Is he a core piece to win the Cup, LOL.

  9. I don't seeThe Oilers win the Cup this year !!! Get Holland do the dirty work to get rid of some bad contracts by this deadline and have the new GM in place with cap room to re-do the roaster for next year.

  10. I think we all need to calm down. They obviously have been playing poorly as of late but they did have a great stretch prior to the break. Pretty much every team has ups and downs. Look at Tampa, Winnipeg and Vancouver. Boston has also lost 3 straight.

  11. They Lost their Defensive game… they know how to score. Just play like a WALL and your goals will come!
