We did not show any energy in the first. It was like the WILD put the OILERS to sleep. Now we need to awake and instead of the flashy moves by McDAVID AND DRAISTAL or making the best pass , just shoot the puck. McDAVID HAS BEEN GREAT but I know he can score goals, instead of making the pretty pass or move just shoot and score. Here’s a line McDAVID , PERRY, HYMAN. Perry on the power play… too much fancy plays. This isn’t the 80s . The defense needs improvement by trade and the offense needs another winger or power winger. Pickard was bound to lose a game , he can’t win them all. Ceci was horrible tonight. Also is there anyway we could trade for the “HOBBIT” … .
Terrible play 5 on 5 in any zone. Pickard totally got exposed tonight. Sure lots of shots but I don’t look at that stat when so many shots from distance. Wild have what 17 shots and 4 goals? Just so off since the break. Way too many BAD periods. Many of those games we should have won? But we didn’t. What a terrible statement. We suck 5 on 5 period.
The Oilers where asleep tonight. To many powerplays to kill off. Missed shots on goal. Bad passing, but they did carry the puck most of the time but not able to find the net. Just hope they have a better night tomorrow.
is it a strategy that we play a low scoring 2 periods then turn it on in the 3rd? it worked in most of games in the winning streak. but there is a diff being low event and being sleepy…😮 in the winning streak, the bottom 6 r producing.. but after the break, they r not. not offensively and defensively. the 3rd line has to produce. better refigure the 3rd line players and pls do not include CB.
The way McDavid was buzzing in the 3rd, I wouldn't have pulled the goalie. It only took 1 shot for Minny to put the game out of reach, and they had all the pressure at 5-on-5 anyway.
This is just one of those games where the Oilers do a lot of things right, but it just didn't go their way. Unfortunately, this game is reminiscent of many games they played at the beginning of the year and through the Florida road stretch earlier in the season. Overpowering and outplaying the opposition and not getting the bounces.
It was a very good game. Ya can't win them all. Minnesota is a great team. It was good to lose now to prepare for future games. Edmonton keeped hitting posts, it wasn't meant to be. Calvin played well. Looking forward to tonight's game with Calgary.
The sooner the oilers mngmnt faces the fact that they need a good d man n 2 very reliable goaltenders who can steal a game ..the deeper they'll go ..picks is too cold at times n skins is way to slow for reflex saves ..as big as a wall but like 73….too slow…n kulak n ceci …cough up the puck too much
Gotta be better on those poor periods. The first was sleepy and cost them a goal. They need to have a limit. No team can be super dominant every single period every night but they need to prevent the play from decending so low. Even though they were way better in third, they cant allow little mistakes to turn into goals while going for it.
When you take more shots in the 3rd Period than your opponents does the entire Game but you still lose, then that massive discrepancy must be addressed as the Elephant in the Room. NO?….over to you Ken Holland…could it be Goaltending?… do we need to have Campbell worked into the rotation? These are some altruistic and very compelling questions.

Another tough loss boys , let's forget about it and let's do the battle of Alberta right , LFG
Minny got lucky
Would be nice to have a goalie of their calibre

Offence is drying up a bit
He completely disregards the team's consistent tendency to play passively during the initial two periods.
a lot of their passes didnt connect, good scoring chance shots were wide of the net or were shot right at the gusteffson, making him look good

Where is our conventional Stats breakdown and Synopsis?… the Oilers really need the insights now.
