Let’s gooooo. Big game tonight. Let’s get a bigger lead on the central, show the league they aren’t playoff frauds at all

  2. skilzkid

I don’t mind missing out on Tanev, but my god the Stars got him for nothing. Steal of the century. Anyway, let’s light them up tonight and take the throne in the central

  3. TheGreatStories

Used to be you could write a Laine 2 goal game in pen and a hatty in pencil for these games. Monahan time?

  4. Adorable_Quiet8685

It’s not gonna be a walk in the park, but in theory this should be a win. The Jets have got their groove back while the Stars have been struggling offensively. Likely to be a low scoring game if both Goalies are on as the Jets play defensively and the Stars sputter to score.

I kinda feel like it comes down to who gets momentum in the first for this one.

    That said, 3-1 Jets.

We think it’s going to be Sanheim now that Tanev has been dealt?  Chevy let’s Dillon go because of age, Sanheim has term. He anchors pairing #2 for the next 5 years. Re-sign DeMelo, find a buyer for Schmidt and slide Heinola in with Samberg on pairing #3? Or is it like Heinola goes the other way with Drysdale hurt again?

Submit your predictions by the time first period begins!

  7. Leopardskuull

I’m curious how Chevy will respond to Dallas getting Tanev.

  8. BrilliantSundae7545

I hope the jets get a whole bunch of gosh darn goals tonight.

  9. Expensive-Break6347

Let’s hope the boys bring the heat and get physical. Battle for the central tonight! Let’s go boys!

It’s funny seeing the Flames get universally panned in the trade grades and questioning if their GM will be kept around. It’s less funny that their valuable asset went to our direct competition who are being given an A+.

It’s a bit unfortunate that both Philly and Nashville will probably hold onto most of their assets given their playoff hopes. Maybe Sanheim could go but with the uncertainty around re-signing some of our current dmen that might get sticky. Interested to see what Chevy does as he’s almost certainly not done.

This game makes me anxious, I so desperately want to see the jets come out with a big impressive win… like 5-2 or something, I’m definitely going to need some beer to get through this one.

  12. I’m heading out to Dallas to go to the game tonight and hoping for a great game and a Jets win. I’ll settle for a Jets win no matter what it looks like. ✈️ Go Jets Go!!! ✈️

Today has the same energy as when we played Vancouver

I could have sworn I heard on TSN that there’s a rumor that Toffoli could go back to the Kings if the Devils decide to sell. They’re 5 points out of a playoff spot and still can’t find a goalie to upgrade.

He got no trade protection. Sure would be a great pickup for us. Cost would be pretty high though.

[ESPN – NHL trade deadline 2024: Preview, picks in play for 32 teams](https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/insider/story/_/id/39615918/nhl-trade-deadline-2024-teams-players-preview-contracts-picks)
    >
    > Winnipeg Jets
    >
    > Deadline status: This could be their year
    >
    > Cap space: $5,843,794
    >
    > Players, picks in play: 2024 second-rounder (MTL), 2025 first-round pick, 2025 second-round pick, 2026 first-round pick
    >
    > What they should do: Continue to signal their intent to challenge in the Western Conference by making one more addition ahead of the deadline. After being knocked out in the first round last year, the club hopes for a longer run this time around, especially given their regular-season success.
    >
    > Trading for Monahan allowed the Jets to add a second-line center for less than $2 million, with Cap Friendly projecting they’ll have slightly less than $6 million in available space. They already had nine players with more than 20 points this season, and Monahan has six goals and seven points through nine games as a Jet.
    >
    > It appears that the next move for the club could be adding a top-four right-handed defenseman — another sign that the Jets are extremely serious about their title chances this season.
    >
    > Getting one of those right-handed defensemen would provide them more balance on the back end that would fit within the Jets’ overall blueprint of winning as a collective. Even if the Jets don’t make another move before the deadline, they were still able conduct business ahead of most teams. But if they were to make another trade? It could make them even more formidable.

I feel bad for Norris, who is injured yet again, and it’s expected to be long-term, but at least he signed his big extension before these injury troubles really reared their head. I can’t imagine he’ll be easy to trade if Ottawa wants to shake up their core like they’ve signaled this year.

  17. Willyq25

I say we’re due for another Moneyhands natty hatty

  18. spleenmaster1002

Lines are the same at morning skate.

  19. This team is legit and a lot of fun. The central is a tough out this year. I’m already pretty confident in them, but if we can find a way to upgrade on Appleton and pionk then I think I’d be calling cup run.

  20. tropicana4200

Y’all got any of those juicy trade rumours

  21. eh_toque

No Chris Tanev tonight and possible not until next week: visa/immigration

  22. Electroflare5555

Kind of crazy that this’ll likely be our last *meaningful* central division game. We don’t play the Avs or Stars again till the last week of the season

  23. RivetCounter

When do you think Brossoit’s next start will be – March 3rd against Buffalo?

  24. eh_toque

I know i’m starting to sound like a broken record with this, but as the deadline approaches this is your periodic reminder that Mason Appleton averages more time on ice at even strength this year than everyone besides the current top line, Adam Lowry and Sean Monahan. I very much doubt the head coach views his position on the team as one under threat/in need of an upgrade at the deadline.

  25. TheGreatStories

I’m still expecting Vegas to pull a Brassard on us again this year.

  26. Scooterguy-

I love having Broissoit on the team. Best tandem in the league…and probably the best 2nd tender. Wonder if they have considered trading LB? Lots of teams looking for an upgrade between the pipes. We’re losing him next year for nothing anyways. Really this would only end up being a terrible trade if Helle was injured during the home stretch or playoffs. It is a big risk, but could yield an incredible reward. Not saying I 100% support this, just wondering what your thoughts are.

  27. OrganizationNo9556

Illegal Curve Hockey watch party and live podcast at BP Taylor for those interested. I can’t make it but could be fun

  28. GZeus24

Odds on a Lowry fight tonight? I feel like he’s going to fight every game until he scores again – trying to get the monkey off his back by busting lips.

  29. eh_toque

Wow, Friedman is reporting that Carolina and Vancouver got deep enough into trade talks that they needed to make a decision whether to try to sign Elias Pettersson, or keep going down the trade road. Obviously they chose the former for now
