Nah, you’re right. Too reckless and not in a good way. Terrible penalties.

  2. nofakefans18

Think he’s looked alright but with the playoffs coming up I’d rather have a veteran take his place soon and give him some time at the Abby. He has the potential to be a good Top 9 piece but I don’t want to rush him during the most important stretch this club has had in over a decade.

  3. ForethaBirdies

Jesus christ its so obvious by this point. He adds nothing to the line up. At least Aman is defensively sound

  4. By all means, play him on the 4th line. But why the hell is he on top line and PP?

  5. TheRook_

Bains deserved the call up, but I think it’s time to end the experiment and let him go back and help Abby. He’ll have a larger role there and will more than likely be given every opportunity to make the team next year.

  6. salamiolivesonions

Guys tearing up the AHL have not translated to NHL yet (Karlsson, Baines) it kind of makes me want guys like pod to stay for the year and then move up next year like hoggy did.

  7. Spiritual-Piece976

The problem is the forward depth is poor. Nils Aman is not much better.

If the Canucks don’t trade for another F at the deadline it might be hot dog time.

  8. avmp629

Basically sealed it for me when he was all alone in front of Talbot and went for a pass

If he isn’t scoring, then he’s just a defensive liability. Maybe the plan is to be a placeholder until Kessel is ready, but he shouldn’t be playing over Nils Åman

If you really want to, give someone else in the AHL a shot

100% agree, but I think the skills and IQ is there. He still needs time to cook in the AHL, but I think this has been a good learning stint for him. However I think that if we had been winning these past couple games, most people wouldn’t bat an eye. We’re just looking for someone to blame at this point

  10. TimTebowMLB

Similar stat line for a lot of our regulars recently

  11. AccomplishedAd4995

after the colorado game he’s been progressively getting worse

  12. CaptainIndoCanadian

He had a rough go of it today. Thats for sure.

I think he still has qualities that are intriguing but joining the team while 90% of the guys are in a rut probably hasn’t helped his case.

He knows what he needs to get better at now, and I think all it is, is fitness. He needs to bulk up.

  13. DMyourboooobs

He’s playing 5 minutes a night more than he should. Also I think he has 6 PIMs

  14. canuckle1211

Good experiences tho. Should be helpful in his development.

  15. overthisbynow

He does some good things the hockey IQ is there he just doesn’t have any finish

  16. fanbullshitdetector

    Pretty sure it’s 6 PIM.

    Even worse

  17. JerbearCuddles

Show Petey, Lindholm and Mikheyev’s stats too. The team in general has been ass for 8ish games. Bains has looked solid. But he also doesn’t have the benefit of 55 games and a preseason to find chemistry. He’s been on the carousel with every line. Bains is not the problem. Our soon to be 12mil dollar player ghosting is the problem.

  18. TheFearOfFear

He panics when it’s time to shoot the puck

  19. IAmWench

Am I crazy? I was at the game. He made some killer defensive plays. He’s got it. We just were a wet blanket tonight,so we’re trying to find a scapegoat. Let’s not be the classic Van fans we are. Have we heard of the Peter Princple? Cause that is what seems to be happening.

  20. yeetmemommmy

No shit. This is very apparent and nobody will say otherwise, but its not like the rest of the team has been any good either

  21. Realistic_Ad7517

My guy, petey and lindholm werent much better. Im not gonna blame the rookie for this trainwreck game, our team outside jt and brock have been bad.

Hughes turning the puck over almost as much as petey, lindholm looking slow af. Suter cant receive a pass or make a pass, miky is just nothing. Garland at least had some good moments, bleuger js just working his ass off.

If you watched this game and think the problem was bains (who actually made some solid passes and plays in the ozone despite some mess ups) then you need to rewatch. There were 15 passengers today, the rookie isnt the problem.

  22. If Canucks play the way they did against LA today… no way they even get past the 1st round. LA played like a playoff team, tons of grit and boxed us out many times. Even during our own PP they were inside our zone pressuring us. This is the way our coach wants the canucks to play against other teams…. I would be not happy in that locker room if I was the coach. But, maybe this is what the guys need right now.. a bunch of losses so they know when playoffs hit… you’re going to have to be even better.

  23. ImAnAfricanCanuck

I think we should call Dries back up. he was good for us last year and actually put some some points.

  24. Darth_Vicious

I cannot change your mind. Stupid penalties and not having a nose for the net at the NHL level means he isn’t ready.
