Very little chance. It’s a major risk. Those picks mean nothing until they become not only NHL players, but outproduce who they were traded for.
I won’t go so far to say fleeced, but the jury is out. And those 3-5th rounders literally are lottery tickets. Does this make them better long term, not likely. It does give them money to sign FA when their youth is ready for their next contracts. But they had that with expiring contracts anyways.
They’ve done well getting anything for assets who weren’t going to be there next year anyways.

I think my criticism around the returns has more-so been around the quantity over quality aspect of the deals.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent haul for 2 expiring UFA’s. I just sort of viewed the Lindholm deal as breaking a $5 bill and getting 5 Loonies in return.
