[Friedman] Lyubushkin ira au TOR avec 75 pour cent retenus. Les canards en obtiennent un 3ème, les ouragans en obtiennent un 6ème

    He’s backkkkk!!!!!

Also I like the trade, didn’t give up too much, also Ducks retaining salary helps too 👍🏻

  2. Svalbard38

I like this. Not too much to pay for a guy who’s already played serviceably with Rielly. Welcome back, Russian Bear!

  3. sluck131

I like it we needed a RD and we got one that experience with rielly cheap.

And last time he cost us a second

  4. 1columbia

In 11 years the best D partners the Leafs have given Morgan Rielly are TJ Brodie playing his off side, Ron Hainsey, Luke Schenn and Ilya fucking Lyubushkin. This team is ass at drafting and developing D.

I think this is a perfect move to compliment what the Leafs have going on. A lot of people are saying they aren’t going to make a run this year, why blow their load on guys like Tanev if that’s the case? Bring in the bear and see what happens.

    Good move Tre.

Seems a **little** high to be honest but not anything really worth complaining about.

    *Down to 4 picks in the Top 3 rounds over the next 3 seasons (24 1st, 26th 1st & 2 3rds).*

  7. crushade

So the third is high, but the retention is incredibly valuable. Tells me Tre is looking to do more.

I like it! He’s perfect. May not be that big fish but he’s big, hits and shoots right. I liked him the first time around!

We needed something. Atleast we have an idea of what to expect from him. A 3rd is sort of hefty but the fact it’s a double retention and we’re getting him for less than league minimum seems fair. The double retention also hints that Tre isn’t done

  9. stef_145

fine add for more depth on D. obviously they did it now that gio is hurt again

BOOSH! One of my favourite players to watch live

  11. CasualtyEH

That makes him like $687,500 on the cap i think? I’ll take that price for Lyubushkin. We are desperate for a RHD* at this point so this helps especially with Lilly out.

  12. ElephantShell34

Did they really need 75% retained? Hopefully that means they aren’t done.

  13. TiredReader87

I like this. He shouldn’t have left.

  14. SpinningDickTwist

    Good, I don’t like Lagesson/Lajoie

Love Boosh for what he is and theres still plenty of assets to acquire another RHD and/or someone to play with Tavares.

    Quality start Brad

  15. TIZZZL3

BOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHHH!!!! Welcome back, should have never left us

  16. Fuuutuuuree

I know it feels underwhelming, but not a month ago everyone consensually felt like they were ok to roll with the team they had and if they made a run, go for it. It’s easy to say all they needed was an Adam Larsson, but would be even easier to say “what were they thinking” if they get bounced first round.

The trade itself is fine. The cost is essentially nil for a duo that’s proven to work in the past.

I’m totally fine with them not sacrificing any significant futures given their already tight situation next year

  17. bluejaysway123

Fuck yeah! I was actually thinking about him today. Welcome home!

  18. Carparker19

So is gio going to LTIR? Or someone else being waived/sent down? Capfriendly had the leafs at $0 cap space and max roster before the trade.

  19. DrinkMoreBrews

Way better than trading a 3rd for David Rittich lmao

  20. shrederick

Well, the last « shitty » dman we got from the ducks ended up being pretty decent, so I guess I’m cool with a Boosh reunion.

  21. jdragon3

Cheap AAV, doesnt preclude another move, and we desperately need a body. resounding « ok » from me

  22. emaginutiv

So without any other moves im guessing we’re running

    Reilly – Boosh

    Brodie – Liljegren

    Benoit – McCabe

    Gio/Laggeson

That’s… fine. I like it. It’s heavy and defensively responsible. I just wish we could get another puck mover but I don’t know who we would take out of the lineup to put one in.

If it’s Boosh then I feel the price was a little too steep

  23. Jack0thy

I just….I love the idea of a hyper physical blue line and he compliments Benoit and McCabe in that regard, but who does he play with? If McCabe moves up you have Benoit-Boosh which doesn’t seem great for puck moving and creates a clog with Brodie, Reilly, And McCabe vying for 2 spots. The only way I see it making sense is if Benoit is pushed out, then you have mccabe-boosh which would actually probably be badass, but I love Benoit and we’d still have to make a move for Reilly.

If this is the partner for Reilly…oof.

  24. Brennans_account

I don’t hate this. By the looks of it, Gio is maybe out for the year with that injury he took this past game. I myself have gone into the boards awkwardly and I’m not the oldest guy in the NHL skating at 33 K/ph.

Sheldon has coached this dude before, we know what he is and this motherfucker shoots right. A third and a 6th with retention isn’t that bad.

  25. Dlp1996

He was horrible in the playoffs for us

Couldn’t break a puck out to save his life

Not happy if this is our only RHD acquisition
