  1. I’m a Leafs fan from Detroit and my very first home leafs game I got to watch was that 9-2 win and I can attest, it was the best night of my life. I took my boyfriend who’s never been to a hockey game and I think I ruined his perception of how games usually go

  2. So the main story line is Leafs beat one of the best teams in the league a team that has 1 more point than them and the leafs have 2 games in hand and the Leafs are a wildcard team and not a contender… love being the underdog but this season is like last years AM34 only scored 40 goals he’s done, to this year and this team is done… and the wife wonders why I am a train wreck during hockey season, I blame the Leafs.

  3. Not a big wings fan but grew up in and around Detroit, now in Kzoo. At Fri/Sun night beer leagues this week, the consensus is he was much more of a wing than a hawk but it's biased bc of the cups imo

  4. When I was a senior, my high school (in a Buffalo suburb) had a charity basketball game that included Sabres Alumni. Me and a friend were selected to sing the Canadian national anthem before the game with Doug Allen, the Sabres anthem singer at the time. Great memory. Growing up there, we never questioned singing the Canadian anthem for big events, it was just a thing we always did when hockey was involved.

  5. Ozone Time is an useful stat; but if you think about it a team could be so dominant that they get in the zone and score immediately, and then conversely they could be spending a lot of time in their own defensive end while the other team tries to find angles and can’t seem to get anything going.

That’s why I’m a firm believer in the hockey Gods lol

  6. You have to actually watch the game to decide whether the blocked shots are a bad thing or a good thing.

Sometimes they’re not playing hard defensively at all and they’re just standing there hoping against hope to block shots.

Sometimes you’re playing one of the best offensive teams in the league and they’re busting their ass and every blocked shot is a the best defensive play possible.

    This game was the latter.

  7. Just gonna note on the anthem thing, I’ve seen multiple Canadian singers butcher the US anthem too, it goes both ways

  8. Me punching the air when I find out that the leafs traded to top-tier goalies away for Tyler Biggs and Andrew Raycroft. John Gibson and Tuukka Rask were supposed to be leafs. I’m very sad now.

  9. I have a thought for part of the VIP package. Could we get the podcast without ads? Other channels I subscribe to offer no ads for their podcasts. Just another perk that may be nice.

  10. Man I really hope the jets pull through. I'm a Canucks fan but I really enjoy seeing more Canadian teams in the league, gives Canada a better chance of that cup coming home. Honestly I know Bettman would never go for it cause he doesn't like Canada for some reason… But the Quebec Nordiques coming back would be awesome. I mean the province of Quebec is a large market and Quebec city is comparable to Winnipeg if not alittle larger. Or even a team in the maratimes. Like Halifax is the size of Winnipeg. It'd just be nice to see more Canadian cities and provinces represented in the nhl

  11. I'm sure the Sabres singing the Canadian Anthem in Buffalo for every game has been discussed for a while. Well, I knew it, at least…

  12. So, the AHL playoffs are WILDLY stupid. The playoff field will include the top six finishers in the eight-team Atlantic Division, the top five finishers each in the seven-team North and Central Divisions, and the top seven teams in the 10-team Pacific Division.

First Round match-ups will be best-of-three series; the two highest seeds in the Atlantic, the three highest seeds in each of the North and Central, and the first-place team in the Pacific will receive byes into the best-of-five Division Semifinals, with the First Round winners re-seeded in each division.

The Division Finals will also be best-of-five series, followed by best-of-seven Conference Finals and a best-of-seven Calder Cup Finals series.

So, basically, it's the 2020 playoffs, but an odd number for REASONS that nobody can figure out.

(It's money. The reasons is money.)

  13. If Cam Ward won the leafs a cup he would have a statue. Put more respect on his name

  14. Red Wings fan, I love Chelly. I don't think Red Wings retire his number though. Not because he doesn't deserve it to be but because Chris Ilitch doesn't seem to have any plans to ever retire another number ever again.

  15. Go catch some Zzzzs, Adam, because you're already a winner (and I say that fondly, because I know literally nothing).

  16. Awful polite of you Adam lol Original Wendy was a bit hefty, so they cut her out. Then the next year just started tossing a young babe Fake Wendy into ads

  17. Our current gov has done nothing to increase the strenght of our dollar so no one can afford luxurys like NHL games and lobster dinners

  18. I can’t believe the Winnipeg jets have less fans than the SanJose Sharks. Every game I watched in SanJose has the most empty seats all through the arena

  19. Adam often makes the point about the value of the franchise going up being more important than making money.

But why do we trust that the franchise value will continue to go up if they’re not making money. Why would potential buyers be willing to spend more and more on an asset that repeatedly makes losses? There is just a disconnect with that statement. Are they expected to eventually bring in a lot of income?

  20. I'm kind of surprised that for someone who likes history as much as Adam says he does that, he would repeatedly get the part about the commissioner wrong.

Bettman is the only commissioner in the history of the NHL. Before that, it was a president.

  21. Hey guys! Didn't you say, a while back, that no player has played more than like… 20 games or something after a hip resurfacing surgery? Can you talk about how amazing Patrick Kane has been post-surgery? It's a great story!

  22. As a Wings fan I definitely don't think we retire his number. Feels like the Wings have a pretty strict criteria for guys who get their numbers in the rafters and, for how great he was and how much we love him, I don't think he fits that criteria. Think we'll get Federov, Datsyuk and Zetterberg retired at some within the foreseeable future and then we'll have to wait a while for the next one.

  23. Chelios was traded. He cried during the conference announcement. If Blackhawks fans were mad at him that's insane. And Adam easily has the most bad takes

  24. I just gotta say I love when you guys talk about the kraken and hearing what you gotta say. I also really appreciate adam acknowledging the fact that daccord needs a quality backup, lol.

  25. We Red Wings' fans have great memories of Chelios while he was in Hockeytown. He helped us win two Cups. And the best part was we didn't have to play against him. He was part of a very good and very tough defense core in Chicago. Also his #24 won't be retired. If #24 ever was it would be for Bob Probert.

  26. Am I the only one who felt they took the bad take bet question all wrong? I honestly think the guy was asking if you guys hold a competition for most inaccurate take, like who will win the metro conference or that the senators would make the playoffs etc
