Wild seeing speculation about Guentzel up there. You’d figure the penguins would keep every weapon they have until Sid retires. Their window is closing, but you can’t really ever count Sid out.

His value is never going to be any higher than it is now. Additional year on his contract after this one on a Team Friendly deal (even better with retention) and on a 30+ goal pace! It would behoove GMPVB to not trade his by March 8th this year.

Best part is the ducks can retain 100% of all salaries to sweeten the deals even more. A lot of luxury teams don’t have.

If we’re straight trying to build the future then we trade vatrano

He’s never had a year like this, he still has a reasonable 1 year left of his contract, and he really doesn’t fit into our long term build

This would be max value for vatrano

I’m good with them both going as long as PVB please for the love of God do NOT trade them to Vegas!!!

Why does it say Vatrano is a UFA in 24-25?

  7. Does retaining salary contribute to our salary cap? Say we retain the full contract will that be on our salary cap?

I’m genuinely surprised Vatrano isn’t above Henrique. Henrique is great and versatile, but Vatrano’s contract tips things over the edge for me. It’s too affordable for a 20 goal scorer (especially if salary is retained) for teams not to be interested – there shouldn’t be a playoff team that couldn’t make it work in some way or that couldn’t use him in their middle 6. Pretty sexy consolation prize for which ever team can’t get Guentzel.

I think I’ll be a bit surprised if he’s a Duck after the deadline. Still a fence sitter as to whether that’s a good or bad thing. Guess it comes down to what the return is.

Would love to pry Brad Lambert out of Winnipeg. Not sure if Vatrano is something they’d want or could get it done, but that kind of prospect I think would be a good return and a pretty good trade for both teams.

Got a feeling it’s gonna be both Rico and Vatrano for a Kakko/Cuylle + Perreault/Othmann deal. Whatever the combination it’s probably going to be a young roster player and top prospect coming back to Anaheim.
