Interesting little article checking in with former NHLer Kyle Turris who retired in 2022 after stints with the Coyotes, Predators, Oilers and most memorably Senators. The Canucks related info in this article is that Turris is working for the organization on an internship with the business side of the team and is looking to get a business degree and work in hockey in some capacity. Neat to see that a local guy (he’s from New West) is working for the team and looking to continue his career post retirement, and also that he’s staying in the area and building a house in North Vancouver. It will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere for Turris and if he is able to work his way up the organization.

That’s awesome! I always love to hear when players go back to school after their playing years.

“I’ve been in the Canucks’ business intelligence division, and I’m about to go into corporate partnerships,” Turris said. “I rotate through the different divisions to gain experience on the business side of an organization to better understand that. And just being in a work and office atmosphere is helpful too because I haven’t done that either.”
Well that’s cool. I’m surprised there was no news he joined the org regardless of the department. If there was I certainly didn’t see it.
