Think of how much infamy the beezer still has because of the 96 run, if officer bobrovsky wins the cup, he deserves a lifetime of praise from the team and fans, in the way thay luongo will always get our praise. Remember, these goalies chose us when we were still on the rise. Those are the people you want to show appreciation for.
It’ll be more weird if we retire 16 as well. 72 is a number that isn’t used as heavily as a low number like 16, but barky is easily the best captain this team has ever seen. He also needs to be immortalized for it.

Aside from prior accomplishments, this would be like the blues retiring Binningtons jersey. He’s not a franchise player despite his resume for the HOF

Yes. He’s honestly had some good play despite most of his contract being behind Swiss cheese for defense. We’re finally giving him the support he needed and look what he’s doing. I think if he had this at the start of his contract, we’d all feel overwhelmingly better about his cap hit and term. They said we would regress this season and Bobby has held us in there and given us hope.

i absolutely love how much the Bob narrative has flipped from his first few seasons. he is such an easy guy to root for, happy he’s feeling the love from the fanbase now.
