The next 2 1/2 weeks will tell the tale for the flyers they have 7or 8 games against playoff teams if we can get out of this stretch over 500 I think we will make the playoffs but if they shit the bed it’s gonna be hard to hold onto that last spot.

If the Flyers don't beat STL this week, that Ottawa win could be the last one in a while. Heavy teams coming up, even if Konecny back, I don't think they're going to be able to stay competitive. They needed to beat Washington. I just hope nobody else gets hurt, and whatever trades are going to happen can happen. Risto breaking for the season again screwed that possibility up, they could have taken very little to begin removing him from the books. Bah.

Also, with 4 games in hand on Vancouver, it's not necessarily "quite long" of a chance that they catch them. Assuming they can win even 2 of those games, that makes up 4 pts on Vancouver, putting Edmonton 5 points back of them. Given that Edmonton started the season in 2nd last place after the first month? Ya, I think Vancouver should rightly be worried. They sure have made up a monumental amount of ground.
Is it likely? Not really. Is it possible? Easily.

As a Canes fan, I woulda dropped the Canes more than that. That was quite the ugly collapse yesterday and they haven't been playing all that great in the last few games either, even though they've managed to win most of them.
As a wings fan I appreciate the bump. I just don't think we deserve it after losing to the isles and getting beat down by the Panthers.

I think it’s worth noting that power rankings are opinion pieces, though technically also based largely on statistical analysis and overall performance. I think some people also forget that a power ranking rarely speaks only about current positions, and will usually include some form of guess at the future, which is, by all regards, speculation

still find it funny that you PRAISE Forsling, yet completely ignore Ekblad. Ekblad is the #1 Dman, Forlsing is a glorified #4. sure, Gus has an incredible +/-, but that's due to his zone starts, plus the fact that the Panthers have at least 8 forwards who are, at minimum, competent 2-way players. give Ekblad some love!
