Just not for the Devils
Miraculously every other team in the running for a playoff spot also sucks
Tuesday is gonna be a blood bath.
Well, on the plus side, I’m suddenly more available for the rest of my life on Devils game days. My health can’t take this anymore. Fully into « on in the background, barely invested in this year anymore » territory.
I have no words other than LGD.
I hate that I’m able to treat this season like the tanking seasons and if they start losing early I can easily shut the game off, and that’s if I even bother to tune in.
Players look dejected, constant line tinkering, a PP that seems like it hasn’t scored since New Years, and a fanbase that (deservedly) had some expectations for the season feeling led astray.
I get there’s factors working against them (rookie defense eating big minutes, losing key players for notable stretches, goalie carousel), but there needs to be some accountability that a team looks so different just a year out from a very impressive “we are here to play” type season to whatever they’re icing today.
I’m on board with getting a goalie to properly tend the crease for us but does that solve our problems or only mask the issues the rest of the team up front is having?

What a waste of a season. You put a better coach behind the bench or a better goaltender in net and we are probably squeaking into a wildcard spot instead of watching the playoffs slip away. For whatever reason, Fitz has acted on neither of these.
I can only be so mad at Lindy for making boneheaded coaching decisions because the GM is the one keeping him around way past his best-by date.
