Time to learn how to pass the puck again

Sure it’s just one loss after a really good stretch, but it’s the circumstances that are concerning.

Could have really narrowed the gap on home ice and more importantly could have set a far better tone for all of the upcoming matches. These are the games you want the guys to show up for at this point in the season. I know you can’t win every single game but it just never really felt like we were in it.

Better to get steam rolled now instead of April, but it’d be better if the Bruins at least left the building tired and with some bruises. You want these guys to be worried about playing us, this won’t help that.

    Wake the fuck up boys.

At least the not getting shutout streak continues

  4. FinalMalus

Outclassed in every area—just a really disappointing game.

  5. crushade

Leafs just didn’t match the intensity. Happens in almost all of our divisional games it seems, super frustrating. Like they don’t want it as much.

Also, fuck the Bruins and while we’re at it Craig Simpson sucks too!!

  6. Gear4Vegito

We have been on a really good streak and yet we haven’t gained any real ground on the two teams above us nor have we really separated from the two teams below us.

Perfectly balanced as usual in the 3 spot…

    * **Boston Bruins:** 86 Points *(2 Games in Hand)*
    * **Toronto Maple Leafs:** 78 Points
    * **Detroit Red Wings:** 72 Points *(0 Games in Hand)*
    * **Tampa Bay Lightning:** 72 Points *(2 Games in Hand)*

Core 4 (minus JT unironically) shit the bed

  8. dickens-seider

Left Woll out to dry all night. Brad please get on the phone, we need a top 4 RHD badly

  9. twizzyflyguy

One of those games that honestly just ruins my night, and the Bruins sub is probably lit up with joy making memes about how this team is their little
    bitch

  10. Volderon90

0-9 against the east in your last games? Come on down to Toronto and we’ll cure that!

  11. Movieandtvfan

The Power play has been trash since Rielly came back. Wonder why that is…

  12. ShinyVuIpix

It’s actually so disturbing that that’s the effort we brought against fucking Boston tonight. Red flags all around.

  13. sneed_poster69

    >things I’d do

I’m not the GM so nothing

    >things I wish they’d do

idk, more good hockey stuff, less bad hockey stuff

  14. Luger180

another game where their star is making plays and looking great and ours look like the last game of the regular season with a playoff spot locked up

  15. No_Iron1858

Such a group of losers. I can bet my life on the fact that this core will never win 6 straight against Boston like they just did to us. Anyone defending this garbage is beyond delusional

  16. xjbxoxo

Not sure about everyone else, but I think the problem I’ve had and will continue to have with this team (unless they catch lightning in a bottle and get lucky for a playoff run) is that they even have so many games where they just half ass it or don’t care enough to put in effort. It’s not even like it’s one guy, it genuinely seems like the team’s mentality and it’s been like that for YEARS. I’ve never understood why anybody, no matter how good they are, has gotten a pass to just check out of games. Wouldn’t it be nice to have guys who give everything they’ve got whenever they play? Just a thought

  17. dwnumber1

Auston Matthews playoff preview. can’t do shit against heavy teams

  18. DrinkMoreBrews

Pastrnak was better than Matthews/Marner/Nylander combined lol

  19. Ristifer

Toronto will never exorcise these demons if they are soft as shit every single time. They should be running them out of the building.

  20. StrygwyrSuperstar

If Matthews isn’t scoring at 75+ goal a year pace we are a very mid team.

  21. CasualtyEH

Every time the Leafs can make it easier on themselves they trip over their own feet. Same story different year.

  22. StaticR0ute

Ya can’t win em all, and games like this happen… But why did they have to wait until it was against the fucking Bruins?!?

  23. CasualtyEH

It’s a massive issue that this team is straight up garbage at home when Keefe has the advantage.

  24. ChampionShark1

It was a shit game but 3 posts or something like that. There were a few bad bounces, but a lot of defensive mishaps were our own doing. If the power play doesn’t perform the team cannot win.

This team either wins comfortably or loses playing badly. There aren’t too many games that can be chalked up to a few bad bounces and I don’t think this was one of them.

Hopefully we can see a few more defensive acquisitions who are better at evading a press and better forechecking forewards.

  25. FonziesCousin

I loved this game. It prepares my body to settle down because blue balls in post season is imminent.

  26. Significant_News_638

The Leafs have a bit of a lineup fit issue with Domi and games like tonight (elite team, playoff type feel) prove it.

He is not good enough defensively to play as a centre against tough opponents or in the playoffs when line matching is prioritized. Yet he isn’t nearly as effective offensively on the wing as he is at centre. He needs to be at centre to utilize his strengths, but at centre is also where his weaknesses are most exposed.

Not really sure where he fits come playoff time. Might need to get him a stronger defensive winger (Jarnkrok?) and try that ?

  27. Fuuutuuuree

Not putting too much stock into that one. Too many weak defensive efforts, got lost in their own end a few times. Its fixable. The things that worry me the most is the systematic/coaching aspects. It was FAR too easy for them to break out of their zone, and enter the Leafs. It was effortless on their part. Something has to change in their approach to that. I worry about Keefe adapting in the postseason..

  28. Friendly-Border-3651

Treliving better not trade the farm come deadline day. Clearly this team can’t beat Florida or Boston in a 7 game series. The Leafs are not where they need to be yet, and it is ok to admit it.

  29. TheDeadReagans

    They played well but….

    – You can’t be making mistakes like that vs an experienced team like the Bruins given that their strength is goaltending and defense, it doesn’t take a lot for them to sink you. Swayman played excellently tonight
    – Transition defense continues to be an issue for the team. I think ultimately tihis will sink the team in the playoffs.
    – PK was awful tonight, the second PK was particularly bad even though the Bruins did not score.
    – Would have liked a better pefromance from Woll
    – Tavares’ line played really well. That’s a good take away from the game
    – 4th line played well but that’s not what you want to hear from this lineup.

Story of the night: Pastrnak put up 3 points. Matthews, Marner, Nylander put up 0. They can’t be doing that in playoff series.

  30. Bruins defensive effort and their goalie stopped us tonight. Matthews was allowed no time and space.

We were awkward on the puck today, floundering a lot of simple passes and controlling of the puck.

Have to say the effort was there from the boys tonight though, getting goalied in the second was the end.

Bruins were not that impressive offensively, but our defense was disorganized, it was too easy for the Bruins to score.

Game like today, you just feel something is missing, and some legitimate criticism should be aimed at Keefe.

  31. GeneralHorace

It’s not a good luck losing to the Bruins, but I don’t think this loss was as bad as it looked on the scoreboard. We had some great chances that just didn’t go and Swayman played unbelievable.

Also Liljegren’s worst game of the season, woof. Hope he bounces back next game because we’re gonna need good Timoth if we have any shot in the playoffs.

  32. JonJonFTW

I’m not hung up about this game, it doesn’t change how good our last 10 have been.

But I’m just so tired of being punked by the Bruins. If we have to play them in the playoffs I’m praying we flip the script on them.
