Brodie and Liljegren were too soft. Nylander, Matthews and Marner played like 4th liners. Woll was average, but Leafs needed him to be elite. Domi and Bertuzzi are not top six caliber players. Only the 3rd line had any momentum in the game.

Watch Button Hook Reilly on the first goal. Where the hell was he playing?! 'Oh, I'll push this guys back with my stick. Leaving the whole left side of the ice for the Bruins player to score. Button Hook is overrated! Leafs management didn't learn from Button Hook Reilly being off the lineup! The team record is way better without Button Hook Reilly!!! Marner is an incredibly skilled player, BUT when the game gets physical, Mitch is non existent.
This is why spending more picks and prospects to complement this fancy gutless core is futile. Its been 8 years of selling the farm, only to have the young core 3 disappear in the post season.
Lets be real here, this team is a minimum of 4 to 5 solid average players away to make a deep meaningful run. 3 defenceman and two top 8 forwards. The only way to get these 4 to 5 players is by drafting and slow development. Or shipping out 2 of the core 4 to get and make room for said pieces.
The only way this current roster makes a meaningful run is if Nylander, Marner, and Matthews play out of there f ing minds with out of this world tenacity piss and vinegar.
44,37 just brutal. Usually I would include 78 in this , but actually plays better without 44 and on his on side. 88 looked like he was picking daisies . Totally agree with the dipsy doodle! After watching games where they gave it everything, and left it all on the ice… tonight just lacked effort. They played to lose
Matthews isn’t a big game player. You saw the difference between pastrnak and Matthews tonight. Pastrnak shoulda had 4 assists and Zacha a hat trick but he missed a wide open net.
The bruins outwork them tonight they where more hungrier team .Toronto had the first 2 powerplays and could have set the tone of game but didnt.Too many cute plays not hard on the pucks very dissapointing considering if they won they would have closed the gap.When pavel zacha is better then any of the leafs superstars then you know its going be a dud.They have now lost 6 straight to boston being outscored 22-11 . Looks like its boston in there heads now not tampa like before. .
gotta agree, the leafs have been dipsy doodling all year! point blank chances, and instead of shooting, the pass. the blame for this is squarely on the coaching who should make it mandatory that players FIRE THE PUCK AT THE NET WHEN IN THE SLOT!!!
