  1. Oilers -Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele on expiring contract. Would look good in the Leafs lineup.

  2. When the playoffs hit and if matthews and marner get shut down your gonna need scoring. Robertson gives you a chance at the while players like holmberg and bobby mcmann will be hard pressed to score. Yes they might be bigger and better defensively but im not trading robertson. Next year when bertuzzi is not back or domi he will have a spot

  3. Leafs need a stay at home defender who clears bodies in front of the net and at least a second or third line center .

  4. When was the last time media called a Leaf trade acquisition? I know.Friedman is respected but with all due respect he has not given anything of substance in this conversation. We will just have to wait and see if the Leafs do anything of significance by Friday. Maybe they will. Maybe they wont.

  5. Still think woll needs more time and samsanov played better of late i see samsanov as goalie in game 1 for the playoffs.

  6. Appreicate Elliot, but I disagree with his reasoning. Say you "burn" this year by not adding and expecting the group you have to compete. This is perfectly reasonable. It also provides you a year without spending assets, and another year to catch up to the futures that have been given up draft wise. Bonus, is it helps fill the cupboards and provides that much more spending capital next season.

  7. The leafs had their player…. Luke Shen, go to the preds, give them Robbie and have them retain ..give them the first and get a second back …… Mo never had a better d partner and he let mo be mo and do what he did best .

  8. Congrats jd on being a non smoker I quit smoking 2 years ago Christmas night after being a smoker for 45 years I had a heart attack and nw bad copd on oxygen full time

  9. Leafs are ok at centre compared to Boston and Florida. Left wing can maybe use improvement in size and scoring. We need an upgrade for at least 1 maybe 2 defence. Boy is it hard to gauge the goalies. Can Samsonov stay confident? Can Woll show his brilliance? Is Jones an option and is he close to what we saw in his peak years?

  10. I can agree with the statement that this year they are better then the sum of their parts, but only a little bit better, I don’t believe they are good enough. I’d love to be wrong about this, but that’s what I see.

  11. Leafs could add McDavid & Makar yet still lose in Round 1 vs Florida or Boston.

Sacrificing future picks and/or prospects attempting to fix a fundamentally flawed roster is reckless.

  12. The Leafs are a top 25% regular team again this year. That is a pretty good outcome.

But can the Leaf Core 4 ever thrive with playoff officiating with a playoff run? Why do Dallas Cowboys & Toronto Maple Leafs fail come playoffs – basically every year this Century anyway?

Many say for the Leafs – it is just about too much spring golf enjoyment.😀

  13. "The Toronto Maple Leafs have a 43-18-7 record without Morgan Rielly all-time." Here is the big hole on the Leafs, get Button Hook Rielly out!

  14. They will not make it out of the first round. They are very entertaining but they are not a playoff team.

  15. I would love to see the Leafs work a deal with the Sens and try and bring back Chychrun and Giroux. You get a young dman, who can balance the offense and a gritty vet player who is well respected around the NHL — and both are not rentals. Now, Sens would have to take on salary and maybe even a 3rd team would need to be added, but OTT is about to go into rebuild mode as they sit at bottom of the division standings. Perhaps sending Brodie back, who is a UFA at 5 mil and could be let go at end of season, could help make numbers work and Brodie's not playing well with all his off-ice tragic issues. As much as def is main focus right now for the Leafs, their scoring has vanished in the playoffs so adding these two would really help.

Looking back at all the deals Leafs did last year, the one that perhaps made the most sense was getting dman McCabe, who was not a rental.
